I'm not arguing just trying to read the service manual to some people that can't read. Here you guys can read for yourselves since you are too hopeless to find a service manual by yourselves. Keep making up sh!t, like I said I don't care what you do, but this is what Nissan says to do.

I measured the oil after the car had sat the night.

There is a step 6.5, which they didn't put in there.

6. STOP engine

6.5 Let engine sit for about 5-10 mins for the oil to drain back into the pan.

I've read a couple different repair manuals in my short lifespan. And ALL of them are never very step specific.

Otherwise, like Raceworx said you'd be putting in more oil.

the service manuals i have all say the car needs 3.9 litres of oil if i put 3.9 in straight and let it drain guess what its on full.. take it for a spin and it wont be anywhere near full so are you saying i should top it up with another 2 litres????

i think you're only supposed to put 2 liters of oil in it. i mean... it is a 2L motor. pretty obvious.

Warm oil should also flow back into the sump a lot quicker than cold oil. measuring when cold first thing in the morning has the same affect though
