rwd block vs fwd block
ok i read somewhere on this forum or the other one that the fwd block had the thread tapping's for the rwd steel part of the engine mounts.

anyway so i got an sr20 rwd crossmember i had lying around and basically mimicked that on my current kedo member, but only tacked it up till the engine landed for mock up fit.

so my engine finally landed the other day and i started my mock up today, my conclusion is that there is no way the rwd mounts can fit on the sr16ve block. Unfortunately i dont have any of my rwd engines here to compare to.

so either i am pretty stupid and missed something or the rwd mounts wont fit on the fwd block. thing is the block had 53j and i cant remember what the rwd blocks are.

so am i on drugs or is there a way to make them fit?

that is why people just use the head..Blocks aren't identically stamped.

yeah i used just the head for my last build.

hmmm so that info i read must have been bogus. Damn that cant be right i read it on a forum board.......

ah well time to improvise i suppose. If i have to take the head off and put on a rwd block i am going all out on the build stuff it

Did you get the Mazworks adapter blocks for the VVL rwd conversion? You won't even have to tap the head for the oil feed with those blocks.

you have the blocks made better than mazworx but you cant tell that a fwd block is not even close to a rwd?are you sure you did a head conversion before?

wow way to be a c*ck.
He was only asking a question. If you also recall there was a guy who used a ve motor rwd with a gearbox adapter. I can see where the misinformation could come from. He also didn't say the local ones WERE better than mazworx he said he likes them better. He also lives in australia not the states so why would he not buy the locally made ones over the mazworx ones

ok i dont know where i have posted i have blocks made better than mazworx? If i was going to go a 2.2 over bore i would buy a mazworx block even with our ****ty dollar and the shipping costs.

And yes you are right i dont know crap all about the fwd block. Last ve i tore down i wasn't really interested in the block so didn't take much notice. In fact that block and crank ended up at scrap metal.

I got this engine home and thought i would start mocking up the k frame and to me it looked nothing like the rwd block, but had read on either this forum or the other that the fwd block had the castings for the rwd mounts. It seemed impossible from what i was looking at so thought, meh might aswell post. However i was right all along they are nothing alike.

oh i just realised he was talking about location blocks. Yeah the mazworx ones look quite good nothing wrong with them. Also for my other head swap i went sourced a 20v solenoid

sorry..didnt mean to be a c&ck...by the way i have the adapter to use a L trans with fwd block ..creates more headaches than worth, yes just pop head on rwd block along with the ve crank and pistons...mounting in a 510 or blue bird is simple that way...
