Thread: DE throttle body instead of VE TB??

I am having a issue with the cold valve in my VE throttle body and its causing the car to jerk until warmed up then it goes away. I checked and found NO leaks, so thats not it.

Now I was wondering if I can just swap over a stock DE TB and see if that eliminates my problem and just loop the coolant line since the DE throttle body doesn't have those large lines. My question is there any reason why I can't do this? Or will it work fine?

Thats what I did with mine. Plugged up the coolant lines and used the de throttle body and sensors. I have a b14 but it should be the same. Isn't there a way to adjust the cold startup?

I don't need to adjust it, I need to eliminate it! It is causing the car to surge up and down, not idle to high or low. Thats why I am wondering if its ok if I use the DE TB and TPS sensor along with it instead of the VE tb and tps.

I guess I will try tomorrow.

This is the last thing I have to do to finally have a properly running VE!! Well besides a custom tune, which will be coming after I take care of a few things and then buy some things.

I had that issue with my DE TB until my friend soldered a different TPS sensor connector and fixed the issue.

oh...yeah it happened intermittently. i'd have to push in the tps connector in but it wouldn't work all the time or it would work for a while then slowly happen and get worse if i didn't mess with the tps. Hopefully you'll get it fixed soon. That issue gets annoying.

So you used your de tb on your VE and didn't have any issues?

I mean this is my main question here. I just want to know if my DE tb will work on my VE without any issues. This way I eliminate that whole cold idle valve.

I used the DE TB and TPS with no issues. Just looped the coolant lines and capped off the nipples.
