VVL activation points?points?
Anybody have any suggestions on where to start mine? I am using a greddy mss and its definitely working, just not the way I think it should feel???I tried many different set-ups and it still bogs rather then pick up speed??? Anybody have any suggestions? I might have 1 and 2 mixed up, but still it shouldn't matter.....

YES IT DOES MATTER... switch them around. proper activation point on sr20ve cams i believe is 4800

on sr16 cams i just put it to 5000 an it feels gr8 but i have different set up then yourself

It kind of depends on your mods but I think some where around 5400~5600 should be a good starting point.
Anything below 5000 and you're most likely losing power.
But again, it really depends on your mods.

If you think your are mixing up 1 and 2, just set both of them at the same rpm.

Car should not bog if you set them both at anywhere between 5000 and 5500rpm.

Otherwise something is wrong.

Peace

I am going to try 5000 on both and keep going up until it feels right. From what I was told the exhaust cam should hit first, so I will check out the wiring and make sure there right.

Thanks guys and I will update this thread and let you all know how I make out.

I definitely told you intake first, that's probably your issue. Also, higher than 5k on stock cams you will leave some power on the table.

Well I have them both set at 5k at the moment and was also told to activate the exhaust first, bit I trust your opinion and will listen to you. I think at first I am going to keep them at the same activation point until I figure which cam is #1 and which is #2. I'm going to try 5100 today.

Btw I the new oil pan fixed the oil leak and I am getting your cash tonight.

5100 rpm is good.

Been playing aroung with mine from 4900 to 5300 and 5100 felt the best. Was also proven on the dyno.

But I have in sr16ve cams so...

The 5100 that it was initailly set was with sr16ve ecu and greddy emanage so not sure if the Calum ecu i have now will make a difference.

Peace
