Thread: lets talk air intakes

everyones is going on about manifolds ect but whats the best air intake out there? iv been looking on ebay theres lots of crappy looking chrome things with cheapo filters but i dont really want that id like a good quality CAI for my VE that will replace the crappy perferated rubber one i have at the moment..

whats peoples opinions?

CURRENT HIGHPORT DE SETUP: For those people who don't know, the BOMZ SRI setup mated with a JWT pop charger, is a good setup. It's also 3" instead of the 2.5" like some people think. I picked this up for like $40 to the door from eBay awhile back. I didn't even know it was 3" until I measured it the other day.

FUTURE VE SETUP: The best VE intake setup I've seen goes to "Dash Member" Nismo1997. It is a WAI/CAI combo intake setup. I'm going to use my CAD skills and come up with something when the time comes. I'll be sure to give him credit for the idea.

I will use 3" pipe + velocity stack or JWT popcharger.

I'll be using the top portion of a lowport Pr cai and a jwt popcharger

I had a DIY steel 3" pipe with ebay adapter. But my battery was relocated, so my intake filter on top of where the CAI "hole" was.

The HP the intake affects is so little (IMO) that I decided to 'tune' it for sound.

The best setup i found in my N1 was the standard air box, 2 cold air feeds into it all the resonator boxes removed, and a 3" pipe to the throttle body which i had heatwrapped
