A: We would have to custom build a Intake Manifold Like the one on the Extrudabody: Performance Fuel Injection Homepage tech info installs page! Your looking at $1500 for a Bolt on solution for the sr20VE!

So it looks like if you have 1500 to spend, there is you solution/source, since the other dude from south Africa fell off the face of the planet.

If that $1500 includes a plenum then that's a good cheap bolt on. You would just need a intake tube and your MAF and it will run on your factory computer.

There are 2 guys from South Africa running ITB's on their VE's:

Doctor G's ones are built by Martin Bruwer.

Looking at the extruded ones, it seems that all they have done is bolted their ITB's onto a SR20 intake manifold made for side-draught carbs (Weber DCOE pattern). We do have something similar here:
Precision Throttle Body Pro Series | Autostyle Motorsport

These are available in up to 48mm IIRC and lots of guys use them around here. The manifold for these can be had for around $200 but will require some porting due to the finish from sand-casting. The great thing abt the Martin Bruwer ones is that you get to retain your stock fuel rail, inj's & so on.

But where is this Martin Bruwer guy? From what I recall, it was only about $500us for a complete setup. Several people sent emails, but never got any response.

Those look nice but one big problem. Customer service from the other side of the world. Those ITB's are for standalone since there is no Plenum. Have any pics of those things in the car? looks like you would be able to run the heater hoses.

Pennyfan in NZ tried the EFI Hardware ITBs adapted to fit the VE & he couldn't get them to work properly even with a good standalone & many hours of dyno tuning time. He ended up bouncing them in favor of a custom manifold which was the O2 Induction one IIRC.

Maybe a spacer adapter can be made?

MasterSentra had them on cammed DE.

This is what a DE looks like with them:

I believe you can have a plenum made for them, but most locals don't even bother since we can basically go standalone for around $400, fitted & tuned.

I got some GTiT ITB's in my shed and looked at how to fit them to the VE. I decided it would be easiest to run them upside down because of the ITB's coming off a highport motor and the VE being a LOW Port. This probably wouldn't be helpful for you FWD boys but it they can be adapted easily with a simple adapter plate. GTiR ITB's have horrible shaped ports though, not a nice straight through port like most ITB's
I'll probably just make my own from scratch.
20v ones are nice too but only 42mm so a little small.

GTi-r ones are only 37mm any way.
Im adapting black top 4AGE ones (45mm plus the bonus of being able to run another 4 injectors above the throttle plate if needed) onto the stock 16ve bottom manifold with an adapter plate, early days yet though....... How do you go about working out the required trumpet length ?

What engine management system do the locals use? Sounds like megasquirt prices.
