Do you remember what mine sounded like (ignoring the valve ticking)?

Yup, I've been reading your recent posts/thread as well.

TIG, MIG, three (3) resonators, and Dan with no gloves on while welding.

Just so we don't get off topic and clutter the thread, more N/A exhaust talk probably belongs in some of these threads:

Guages, NX2K/Maxima/Altima MC brake upgrade, CSK's...and then...drumroll....VE goodness.

Steph's requirements and this resultant VE thread is dead on track with what I want. Great information and advice, I'm just gonna borrow it. LOL.

Tranny saver bracket?? Oh, do tell more my friend...

Shawn, looks like were really are doing pretty much doing the same thing here. Nice to know I'll have a fellow VE n00b going through the same swap as me.
As for exhaust, I think I'm sticking with my Borla muffler (love the quite but deep sound) and going with the 2.5 mid section. As fun as it's to have a loud car after about a day, no make that an hour, I'd be sick of it.

I have a set up that is quiet when needed and makes power when you want it. Run a 3in exhaust until the bend b4 the muffler and put a cutout right there. ON the dyno the cutout made 7whp/9wtq with my C2s and my old S3s it did 7whp/11wtq. Also note I have a 2k max muffler that is variable capacity. FWIW my setup was gen 6 hs, 3in cat + piping to a 2k max muffler with a cutout just b4 it.

sorry to dig up an old thread, but I was wondering which nissport adaptor fits the VE, I have one for my nx, but apparantly there's a different size for a b14 and still a different size for the b15!

I'm not gonna read five pages to find out what adapter you are talking about, for hooking up oil pressure gauge and keeping dummy light? If so, I thought it was the same size/thread pitch for all sr20 motors.

Here ya' go:

Miko designed it and swears by it. The cost of the bracket is extremely minor. My mechanic of ten years, Mike, loves the Andreas bracket as well. Said it should have come from Nissan that way.

Pretty much anything that promotes the life-span of our trannies is a good idea in my book.

Yessir. My time frame is a bit behind your schedule, but I will be sure and steal ideas from you and your thread.

Same here. I'm too old for a loud-ass exhaust droning in my ears, and I have ZERO desire to be more noticeable to LEO's. Just what I need, more attention from the cops. No thank you.

Further, when I install a VE (I/H/E, tuning) I will have plenty of power by my standards. Losing a couple whp because I do not have a "sewer pipe sized" loud as hell exhaust on my car is no big deal to me. I am not trying to eke out the last 1/10th of one second in a stripped track car.
