hell yeah it will pay of,for example when i first bought my b13 it had a sr18de in it,so i figured what the heck lets blow it up so i opt for nitrous(75 shot)...it also had ssac 2.5 headers, wai intake and 2.5 catback.well long story short my newly swaped in sr20ve,stock cams, pop charger, ssac header, calum ecu and 2.5 catback pulls just as hard if not harder than the sr18de on 75 shot nitrous...no joke

oh yeah got the cams activating at 4800 rpm's,might try a little lower

My DE with S4s has put the spankin on a few VEs. A good DE motor is hard to beat. A VE set up right is expensive.

I have done all of the above now, but that won't get rid of the fact that your ve should be faster, much faster, on paper. Makes you wonder what is wrong?

I put down 173 with n1 cams.

Why do you say a VE set right is expensive?

Suppose you get a stock ve and a stock de an do similar mods, which do you think will be faster?

Peace

And you should kick his ass. I use to be on par with slightly modded sr20de when I had sr16ve. With my sr20ve now (calum ecu, sr16ve cams 60mm exhaust) a sr20de would have to be highly modded to beat me.

Nope. 60mm is 2.36 inch.

The car came with that mod from Japan (when it came with sr16ve). They use metric system. Guess they would have used a 70mm (2.755") if they we doing exhaust mod to a 2.0 litre.

I am going 3" by the end of this month - 3" downpipe, 3" piping str8 thru, 3' oval muffler, no resonator, no cat. Just waiting on a modded ssac header.

You should go 3" you wont regret.

peace
