First dyno run of the SR20VET
Clint organised a dyno day at Torque Performance yesterday, and I got a power run on their rolling road with my SR20VET powered 4WD P11:
The mixtures were way off, as they were originally set when the car was running 95RON. I had adjusted the ignition map for the 98RON E10 in the tank yesterday, but not the mixtures :o The first power run was stopped mid-way so I could add 5% more fuel up top.
Most interesting thing of note is the behaviour of the torque curve when the cams switch at 5500rpm. I'm running a VE intake cam and VET exhaust cam, with both switching. My guess is that there is something to do with the profile of the VET exhaust cam's high lobe that's causing the flow to drop off, which it shouldn't do just by looking at it. Since no-one knows what the specs of the VET exhaust cam's high lobe is, I'll pull it out and get it measured. In the meantime I'll use the tried & true formula of both VE cams, and set the VVL point at 4000rpm.
To put this 197kw in perspective, Clint's car ran 142.5kw on this dyno about an hour before mine, with the same tune as when he put down 216.3hp (SAE) on a Dynapack dyno - so that would put my car in the 280-300whp region.
