VE head part swap with DE
Ok, I figured I would ask. Valve springs are VE specific. But what other parts are specific for the VE and what head parts will work for both? I haven't torn down a VE head and measured everything, but will valves, seats, etc from the De work for the VE?

I am pretty sure that valve stem seals will swap over, and probably valve guides as well, but I was just curious.

If you bought a completely bare VE head for a complete build, would it be a total pita to get parts for it?

Also, when it comes to shims: I understand there are a few bikes that have shims that will fit, but what is the easiest way to get shims?

Help me add to this list of parts exchange-ability
Valve guides
Valve stem seals
Valve seats?
Valves?

VE and RR valves are the same length and are bascially interchangeable.

the RR exhaust valves are normal steel and are about $1.50 each so they are a cheap upgrade.
The intake valve is almost the same.

RR and VE share the same 36.5mm installed spring height.
91-99 DE is 40.0mm
GTiR is 38mm.

valve guides are the same
valve stem seals are the same

The expensive part about piecing the VE head together would be the rockers and shafts

I too have a spare RR laying around. So the RR has the 29mm exhaust valves as well or are they the normal DE size of 30mm?

Supertech makes their valves and they are supposedly good.

Ok I am putting a SR16VE head on a GTI-R bottom end.... Anything I can use out of the GTI-R that would better the SR16?
