They sell a plastic intake setup that you can build yourself.

Polyethylene does not heat soak like aluminum so there will be benifits in HP by having a cooler intake charge. It will always stay cool in the engine bay.

They sell these kits with air filters or just piping alone in 3", 3.5" and 4"


They say it is a modular system which means it should snap together but I am not 100% sure yet.

What I do know is if it is not you can still buil a great intake system and glue it together with crazy glue as there is no stress on the intake anyway.


Part # 47062 5/8in plastic 90 degree pipe. ( Valve cover breather )


Part # 47061 1/2in plastic 90 degree pipe. ( Idle control niple )


All you have to do is get the gromets that fit the pipes and drill the correct size hole for the gromett and then squeeze the 90 pipes into them

Now if we could come up with a wicked intake for the VE motors and then have it duplicated in plastic like the newer cars have. I know the Maxima picked up like 10 more HP from having a plastic intake manifold.

That is so easy. I will explain once I get it.

Drill hole press in small plastic niple and crazy glue it in. I also think they make a plastic bond glue that is even better.

Good point. You could glue in some bungs for threaded barbed fittings, or glue in the threaded barbed fittings themselves.

i had a though of taking a plastic intake manifold from an svt focus and trying to incorporate that to work with our setup. As long as the runners somewhat lined up i think it would work but i dont know how well those manifolds flow either. but they use couplers to attach the plenum to the intake runners at the head. id almost wonder if it could be made to work with a de/det/ve motor. But again how well would it flow in comparions to a stock manifold.

hmmmmm might look into this. Im still running the stock VE pipe.
