Nice clean engine bay Clint.

Noticed the two knock sensors, are they just for tuning or also for everyday driving?

Oh, about your 7,300 rpm peak power, if you want to move the peak power to a higher rpm band then lose the phenolic spacers. Keep the throttle body spacer but get rid of the rest. If the Kelford online spec is correct for these cams then you need to make the runners shorter. The spec says the new 184-c has shorter seat duration than the N1.

The knock sensors are just for tuning.

Clint did you ever get around to fitting 16VE runners?

CA18 - The initial idea was to use the stroker in a VE but I've been having a lot of fun with the 2L plus I like the DE as-is so its not on the table right now. The Tomei pistons are just under 12:1 so it's not as simple as changing heads, a new build is required.

Rob - Looking at different options for intake now, phenolic spacer will be removed when that's changed.

Kieran - No difference in the sizes at all so I've not changed them.

Blo0d- It's not that short, about 18 inches from velocity stack to TB opening which is still within that 18 - 21 inch range.

Despite being sick I took her to Night Speed last night & did a best of 14.69 in qualifying (messed up the actual race & was bounced in round one). Considering the NZ Primera Car Club record for any Primera is 14.66, it's pretty promising to nearly beat that on my second run ever. I was up against a guy in a Civic on that run & beat him so he found me afterwards & asked 'what the hell have you got in that thing?' ha ha.

As the night got colder she dropped power so I will need to organise a map-switch for hot weather / cold weather. We had found in the past that the mixtures would go lean if we tuned on a hot day & then went out again at night... I never even thought about it before racing but we live & learn. My 60ft times were 2.4 to 2.6 so plenty of improvement to be made in my racing technique!

Yep & this is a full street trim P11 on 16" street tyres so there are quite a few things I could do. If the strip was my main focus I would pull the engine & drop it in a Lucino! The fastest Primera time was made by the Tomei car on semi-slicks.
