For a while around here E85 was much cheaper than 87 gasoline.

You can run 11.1 VE and run 18 psi and higher on 93 !I know a guy in NY who has a DD with that setup .

the biggest issue from that stand point is that you use more of it (20% more from what I heard) so your fuel mileage drops in the name of performance.

You would be very lucky if you only used 20% more. Most guys up here use at least 30%, and as high as 40% more. Even tuned for "economy".

Imagine getting only 120 miles/tank no matter how nice you drive!

E85 here is about the same price as reg 85 octane. It pretty much stays that way throughout the year. Great performance gas, but horrible for a daily. You can make some really crazy power on it though.

Kesi you said a guy was running 18psi on 11:1 VE? on 92-93 oct? That is just silly. I have run as high as 24psi on 91 oct with 8.5:1, but I was told that amount isn't safe. So I keep it at 19 and under on 91 octane.

to put nyc in perspective, don't do what they do unless you are 100% willing to wrench yourself. NY/CT/NJ are hardcore old school racers. If something blows up, oh well, build another one and do it all over again.

post it! who cares about the **** fights! to quote an old aussie saying "harden the f##k up!"

also i will be running 13.5:1 comp (sr16ve pistons) i am eager to see how it all turns out, I think its good comp for e85. The car is going to be a thrasher so will defiantly run no cat, no air con, and probably no mufflers
