...i knew you had it in you. thanks again. btw, that was quick of you to respond; i'm thinking this thread is subscribed for instant or daily notification and you have an alert in your mail client like outlook or thunderbird that sounds off when a new response is posted. but anyways, great thread miko.

To make that for the B15 tranny you will have to send them the Ring and Pinon

They are a Canadian Company.

I will try and see if I can find them.

i searched google and what i found was houseman autosports. jaime (jay-me) was the guy i spoke to. i asked if he ever did a custom FD for FWD SR20DE and he said he might have but there's nothing he can't do, according to him. the biggest you can go is 5.2 - 5.3 without modifying the transmission case. he gave a rough estimate of $1875.00 , ouch. he would need to you send in a factory sample for hole alignment and etc. and that's that. hope this was helpful for some.

5.0 final gear for US VLSD box
Hi Andreas and other forum members who are interested in 5.0 FD.

We are making them and distributing in Estonia with great success, already several years. I also have them for sale in old forum. (Sorry, guys, i didn't know that this new forum is existing ).

In old forum several people have asked for this 5.0 Final Drive for US VLSD gearboxes. Trouble for me is that in Europe we don't have VLSD boxes and i havent ever seen it with my own eyes, i dont have the measurments. So far i have just seen it from photo and i know that for US VLSD box on ring gear there must be 14 holes instead of 8 holes.

If you say that the only thing needed is different bolt hole circle to be drilled, it’s easy. We can make them, no trouble!!

Before i was aftarid that perhaps the shaft may be also different from open diff box and it will not fit. I just didn’t know! This is the most critical question for me. Belive in me, i dont want to ship goods far away to US to have some fitment troubles.

We are just finishing next bath of 5 sets and if you or somebody else can send me to my email drawing from US VLSD ring gear, we can make it and someone in US can test it. PM me if someone have drawing or can prepare drawing for it.

5.0 final drive is really nice and non expensive improvement for our gearboxes.

So it is a no go for LSD gear boxes unless the guys got it made to fit a LSD unit which I am unawre of.

The best thing to do is find out from Greg V if the pinion gears are the same between LSD and Non LSD.

Then next get a NON LSD ring gear and LSD ring gear next to each other just to make sure they are the same depth.

I know the parts above will be the same as listed but just to do it to make sure.

Then all we would have to do is send a core ring gear and have it used as template for the holes. Then you can start selling them.

I would even buy one of these 5.0 FD for LSD.

Dre,

I have a question specifically for the 98 SE-R gearbox. I know it's non-LSD, but the tranny case on mine is identical to a 99 P11 gearbox. The thing is that the VIN number on the tranny matches the vin numbers elsewhere on the car. Is the gearbox the same as the 91-97 SE-R, as far as gear ratios and stacks, yet the same as the P11 gearbox in regards to housings? The matching VIN is what is keeping me from thinking it is a 99 P11 non-lsd gearbox.

The P11 Gear box LSD is a diffrent animal to any gear box offered in the USA ( G20T model ), this means it has nothing incommon with the 98-99 B14 gearbox as fas as tranny case. The gears 1-5 are the same.

The B14 98-99 which come Non LSD only are the same as the P11 Non LSD ( Regular G20 ) Same gears, same FD, same casing.

This means that even though the 98-99 and 99 G20 Gear box are the same ( the G20T 99 is diffrent )

The complete gears, FD and ring and pinion on a 95-97 SER are the same as a 99 P11 G20T. Only the housing on the drivers side is diffrent 95-97 being non finned case and 99 G20T being finned case.

The complete gears, FD and ring and pinion on a 98-99 SER - Sentra SE are the same as a 99 P11 G20. Only the housing on the drivers side is diffrent 95-97 being non finned case and 99 G20 being finned case. Both these gear boxes are Non LSD.

So

91-98 SERs, 98-99 Sentra SE and 99G20 share the same gear stack. LSD and Non LSD.

91-94 SER Housings the same
95-97 SER Bellhousing change diffrent from above.
99 G20T Driverside housing diffrent from above.

This is hard for me. As i mentioned here in (north) Europe nobody havent ever seen LSD box and i dont have possibility to get the part. If somebody in US could check it and inform me, would be really good!

According to the information i have received, the pinion shaft should be the same in both RS5F32A/V gearboxes. Just the ring gears are different: the inside diameter is larger and there are 14 holes.

Andreas, if you can supply me simple drawing from VLSD ring gear, we can go forward.
