I assume that explains your dissatisfaction then?

There was a recall on the b13 fuel pumps. I could be referring more to this as my point as well as being boosted with a stock fuel pump. Sure, people have good luck doing it, but is it really safe? A walbro is cheap insurance for a motor if your pump just happens to not keep up at 8krpm.

This is interesting.

The only reason I have not swapped the pump yet is because I drive with a wideband. Now, I know the risks, so you don't need to remind me, but that is just how it has been.

That said, my b13 is a 91, with over 23k on the clock. I highly doubt it is the stock pump. If it is, then I am lucky.

My pump has been holding power and proper afr fine up to 8k, however I am only making 173whp. Go figure.

I swapped out my NX pump for a Bosh parts store replacement pump a while back. Most I ever kicked off was 178-180hp on my 16cam VE. If the stock pump isn't dead yet don't bother changing it unless your dropping fuel psi at higher rpm. The walbro pumps are cheaper than the parts store replacements.

I'm over 200whp n/a with my stock pump but I learned to "harden the f**k up!"

Seriously though, I've never had a problem but I do have a Walbro 255 sitting on a shelf in the garage waiting for spring.

Stock pump from a WRX is a denso iirc and is a 190 lph iirc, no matter what more than enough for any n/a VE. I ran one for years its a great pump. Last forever, dirt cheap, and the same size as a walbro so you can use a walbro install kit.
