Waterpump washer?
I am finally replacing my de water pump I ended up throwing in the ve.

I ordered a new sr20ve pump from Courtesy Nissan.

It came with a black crush washer gasket. I am concerned if this will seal well alone. Does anyone have experience with this washer? It is black, and came with the pump so I am assuming it is oem, however I have never seen one nor was there one on the ve when I pulled the oem pump out.

So unless anyone knows it works well, I will be throwing some rtv on both sides, but I appreciate any input you folks have.

Btw, this water pump has no grooves on the housing for a gasket or sealer, therefore it would indicate it is an sr16ve pump. My question still stands.

Is this what you got?
Does the box have any part number?

This is the SR16VE pump.

Yep, that's the one.

The whole reason I am asking is because I would really prefer to not have to use rtv, but I don't trust that gasket alone. Since there are no grooves, would rtv even be affective with the gasket?

I believe the grooves would be on the block. (sr16 block)

Just a hint, avoid using oversize pulley on this pump. You'd have more heat on idles and low rpm.
This pump does not suffer on high rpm. It works much better.

The gasket works great, just as good as silicone and I would rather use the gasket.

The VE also has that same gasket on the back pipe that holds the head and guage temp sensor

I am going to be using the sr20ve pulley on this pump. I have a water temp gauge to monitor any problems that should arise. Thanks for the heads up. I am hoping this pump will give me more security at Roabling, over the old straight fin design, I don't trust it.
