Leak down test was good #1 2%, #2 3%, #3 3%, #4 2%. I found that my driver side wheel bearing is bad. I can shake the wheel about 1/4". I wonder how much power that could rob?

Well my tuner and I decided we should wait till teusday so I can get the car in tip top shape. He said it is not the reason for missing that much power. Maybe worth just a couple hp. I am going to buy new oem ngk plug wires and install new bearings in both hubs. I cant think of anything else it needs. It already has a fresh oil change.

Check your engine codes and see if your throwing a code for knock sensor. If you are run a new shielded wire to the ecu for the knock sensor.

My ecu has a CEL on randomly. I have tried many times to check it but it refuses to give me any codes at all. It will not even give a normal running code 55.

Just where the purple plug is, iacc I think. And the maf, both have been well soldered and shrink tubed and are wrapped in electrical tape. The wheel bearing was good the 1-1/4" axle bolt came a little loose. I retorqued it. New ngk wires are on and starts better. I pulled a normal operation code 55 from the ECU.

Does anyone know why everyone with n1's always adjusts the exhaust cam with the intake cam? My tuner says its normaly the intake that needs adjustment not the exhaust.

My guess is that the VE doesn't have the best flow on the exhaust side and any improvement to help that would include adjusting the exhaust cam as well as a free flowing 3" mandrel exhaust. Your tuner probably isn't an expert on VEs like Charles and Andreas and thinks the norm applies to our engines as well. On some VE setups there have been settings that have the intake cam at 0 and the exhaust at either -2.5 or -5 and have made improvements throughout the power curve.

Your in AZ right? Have you heard of Tim at Xact Dyno in Tempe? He's very knowledgeable but has no experience with this motor except for mine. It seems he mostly does turbo motors and honda NA motors.

Haven't heard of him, sounds like he knows his stuff for the Honda NA motors. Not too many VEs in AZ to tune but the numbers are slowly growing. Back when the SERCA Convention was here in '02 SR20 Development out of Cali ra a bone stock VE w/2nd gen Hotshot headers in a gutted B13 at Firebird and they were having problems trying to trigger the solenoids. Ran a 13.9 in a 2100 lb car. FF 7years later full interior B13s are in the 12s NA. Gettin' there... Looking forward to your dyno results with the various cam settings, it'll be interesting on which one will make the most power. Good luck!
