I hate to ressurect this thread from the dead, but I've been very interested in the Sr16ve as of late.

I did some calculations and the maximum piston acceleration is the same for an sr20 at 8700 rpm and a sr16 at 10000 rpm.

Sleeved and stroked to 94 mm could take an sr16ve to sr19ve. With N1/20v cams and a 10000 rpm redline I bet you could see 240 hp (crank) or more if you maintain the hp/l of the sr16ve n1. Put in some lighter aftermarket pistons and bump up the compression, lighter rods.....Itb's, custom exhaust mani...I wonder how high you could get that thing screaming.

I wish I was a millionaire....so freaking bad, lol.

Has anyone built a high hp sr16ve?

this was my plan originally, saving up the mountain of cash needed now lol

I heard of a guy that knows how to make a sr16 make power to 11k rpms. I plan on doing something simlar in the future.

Does anyone make aftermarket sr16 rods? What kind of power would the stock ones hold? I have a set and they look tiny..

11k is awesome, but if it makes no torque wich it wont because its a sr16 its gonna be slow, like b16 slow.

SR19VE with 94 mm bore.

And last I checked a b16 only makes 160hp, the stock SR16 makes 197 soooo....

There are aftermarket rods for a GM motor that have the exact same specifications on length and pin size, and only require a slight machine to get them to fit due to width on the big end. They would hold stupid power and you could probably boost the motor, but not with a 94 mm bore. More like 90-92 mm boosted. But with the high revving capability you might as well leave it NA to be awesome lol.

Longer rod to stroke ratios increase the dwell time of the pistons. This allows the cylinders more time to fill during the "suck" or intake and also give them more time to scavenge during overlap.

A longer rod and shorter stroke is less stressful to rods, crank, pistons, and even cylinders!

What stratton said, the torque would be non-existent and it gets to a point where you are making a lot of noise and not going anywhere fast. I already feel that way now!

The sr20 is stout, even in a stroked stock rod custom piston configuration theres no reason it cant see 9 grand plus, stock ves see close to ten grand daily.
