So which crank was used in the build? I'm just a little curious too. I apologize if u already answer to this ?.

Julian (NYCE1's) always provide good videos.

But seriously 24 pages for a 210whp car?? Hate to say it but this community is full of hype.

one of these days we will be making some serious power all motor but hey its pretty hard for most b series to get 200whp, there is alot of tuning and parts involved, now a k series which is 3X the amount of a ve will get 200whp pretty easily. But hey we all need to have some hype, it keeps things fresh, haha

LOL.... its true but hype is nothing more than a distraction. I just find it so funny that everyone was getting worked up over the #'s soley based on the person who posted it up. I don't doubt that the VE can/will make good power, but its gonna take alot more than pistons and N1's to do so.

I'm not knocking Junior or the owner of the car, but its just typical of this forum. We've watched this thread for almost a month and there was nothing innovative to be found here. Sure did get a few people riled up though..

And believe it or not you can put together a simple B18/B20 just like this ve and make decent hp. My friend made 219whp untuned w/ an LS vtec and a simular parts list as this ve (same brand 12.5:1 compression ratio pistons also) on the same dyno. There have also been a few B series making well over 230whp on the same dyno.

As for the K series... that's a totally different game. This is the also the same dyno as the 200sx:

I'm not suggesting that we all go out and build B and K series because of the power their making, but if you want a 230+whp VE, go beyond the cookie cutter set ups and do something different with your builds. Their are so many people on here with VE's running ss auto chrome or simular header, 2.5 - 3" exhaust, bc springs/retainers, N1 cams & cam gears set to +5/-5.... and we expect to see different #'s than whats already been out?

This is not typical.

First off, innovative? You mean something that's never been done to an engine before, or just a VE?

Also, it doesn't take anything new to make power from a VE. It takes money. Budget builds aren't going to get you there. You need attention to detail and cash.

If you think we don't know how much more superior current and past 4 cylinder Honda engines are to the equivalent generation Nissan engines, you should read this and check yourself before you look stupid.

^If I'm not mistaken, this was a budget build. It was meant to be typical. Just BS parts like he stated in the VID. Most people on this forum jump in somebody's thread and try to tell a person how to build their car. It's great to give suggestions and I take those in consideration, but JUN's black car wasn't typical. They just through this one together in a basic bolt on form and it made good power. What's wrong with that? They have done different in the past.

Well Super X I'm not sure you can compare the 1990's VE motor with no (very very little) after market backing to the B & K series motors (still in production) to SR"s. They not only have MFG support who races these cars religiously but they have after market support out the wyzooo! They have got so many different head, cam, block, crank, ITM combos they can choose from it's not even funny. How many ITM can I choose from to build my car? Hmmm, How many cams?? You get my point These cars are very impressive but to make 230 with a VE is a big achievement for us. Atleast to me it is.

Actually i've been on SR20 Forum since 2000 and on the se-r.net mailing list since 98. I've also been a VE owner since 02 and been one of the first people on here to tear one down and build it back up. How about you?

First off, innovative? You mean something that's never been done to an engine before, or just a VE?

First off, if your going to quote me, please don't rearrange what I typed to your liking. It make what I typed out of context.

I hate this attitude amongst many fellow sr20 forum members who take everything online as the gospel and this its all been figured out and they never go out and create their own winning combination. You guys wanted this car to make that power so bad just this combination could be copied over and over... Easy 230whp winning combination with all the hard work done by someone else.

Money is only half the battle budget or no budget (and for the record everyone definition of budget build is different). There's a lot of new development left to be done with the VE, but if there's not anyone trying different setups how would we reach any breakthroughs?

I mention my friend Honda build in responding to Ashtonser who said that its hard for a B series to make over 200whp. The only reason I posted the video is to show a comparison with the 200sx and other all motor cars on the same dynojet it put down 210whp on.

Whats so BS about the parts list on this car? Like I said earlier, the majority on here has just about the same setup on the VE's. The exception with this 200sx is the 12.5:1 cp pistons and the 4-1 header. No ones telling anyone how to build their car, but it seems that everyone is copying a certain set of people based on whats posted online not from person experience. ie: look and how many people drop in their N1's for the first time and set them @ +5/-5 right away...because someone posted a few years back that this was the best settings.

It's great to give suggestions and I take those in consideration, but JUN's black car wasn't typical. They just through this one together in a basic bolt on form and it made good power. What's wrong with that? They have done different in the past.

How do you know what was/is the black 200sx?? What because you read something online and saw a few pics you think you know the car?? Come on! You guys need to stop taking someone else car personal and defending things you don't know about. At the end of the day you can't vouch for the hype these car carry with them.

Again, i'm not attacking Junior, the owner of the car or whomever. Its just i'm tired of seeing everyone waiting around the the messiah to deliver the winning combination for the masses.
