you should just try and run some short slicks, that way you can finish in the middle or top of 4th

I would not say the best indication of whp but the best indication of how the car is running.

I would say trap speed is the best indicator of power to weight ratio.

A 200whp car weighing 2,100 lbs will trap the same speed as a 220whp car weighing 2,310 lbs because both have a 10.5 power to weight ratio, all else being equal.

a) have brake clearance issues with my wilwoods and slick sized rims
b) the tranny's are too weak to launch at the kind of RPM for slicks

B is not a problem.

I never seen or heard of anyone breaking a 1st gear.

I used to run 11.8-12.4 on my car with a weight of 2450 pounds + 160 pounds with NOS spraying right from the launch.

Never had a problem.

3rd gear is another problem and should have no real issues NA.

I never broke a Nissan Axle and I never broke a tranny case.

Tranny cases brake from 3 things crappy engine mounts ( Get good Solind engine mounts ) crappy suspension and or wrong bolts put in the rear section for the rear mount bracket.

Axles generally break beacause of aftermarket axles.

I have never broken a Nissan Green axle from drag racing and that was with 24x9x15 slicks launching out the hole with NOS.
