Clint I wouldn't be so sure about the above claim, but I would certainly trust your NZ guru.

The ones and only stock springs for vll engines are written bellow:

13203-1N500 OUTER SR20/16VE (all cars, all years)
13204-1N500 INNER SR20/16VE (all cars, all years)

13203-1N520 OUTER SR16VE.N1 (VersionI and II)
13204-1N520 INNER SR16VE.N1 (VersionI and II)

13203-8H600 P12 SR20VE 20V and T30 SR20VET (no inner spring)

That might be true for how the part numbers are now, but if you tear apart a lot of these motors and actually check the valve spring installed heights as well as the valve springs pressures on the outter and inner springs, there are differences. I am sure they most likely updated the springs later on to different ones and only offer one type of spring.

If you check for SR20DE hyd lifter assembly's, they only offer one part now, but I have seen 4 different versions personally.

13234-53J01 is the latest



Fast displays all variations at least JAP does. The US may suck sometimes.

Bringing this back from the dead, but I was wondering if I had a set of the 20V/N1 cams in my setup with the new manifold, how would the car react to revving to 9000 rpm?

I am just throwing some thoughts around right now. I know I wanna rev higher, but the stock 20VE cams seem so weak. The N1 cams have 8* more duration and 8* more overlap than the regular sr16 cams, so I am curious if the effect on power will be that substantial on a turbo VE. It certainly has a lot more lift!

I would love to try out these cams for kicks in my setup when the manifold and .82 divided housing are on. See what kind of power can be made and when it will peak. JPsr20det has seen very very good results with his setup on sr16VE cams.

The 20V/N1 seems like a killer cam as long as you can keep the overlap from causing reversion. The twin scroll design might just make this cam work.

Perhaps Snickers can chime in here?

yeah this cam might work well on your set up, however from what i have seen i would prob run 20v cams with your set up.

The N1 springs are not as strong as the standard springs. At least that is what I had thought.

The N1 ramp angle is very very smooth.

I would like to see how they do just for kicks. The SR16 cams are monsters and if they can rev to 8500rpm making peak around 7500 or so then that would be a winner.

So the SR16VE cams are good to 8500 on my sr16VE head? This is 500rpm more than stock on a 16VE right?

I would like 9000rpm window for overrev without damage, but I don't wanna find out the hard way. I have a new ignition box going on soon to replace my dead MSD digital 6 plus. Then I will have JWT remove the limiter.

what would be a safe rev limit on 20ve cams with aftermarket springs and rertainers?? 8.5-9k ???

My SR20VE with stock cams revs up to 8000 rpm without any problems. 8000 rpm is really the max, it cuts off at 8001 rpm :P
