msd 8969 install help
black- ground
red- 12v source
Grey - not used

white- go to blue wire on distributor?
yellow- not used?

correct?

sorry noob question but little slow right now and i not 100% sure from reading the install on the old forum because its not the msd8969 write up.

then on cam side,

1 on each -goes to ground (can i solder the msd ground and the cam ground wire to distributor wire for a clean install?)
1 on each- goes to 12v power source(same question can i attach the red wire on the msd and the cam wire to the power source on the distributor pig tail?)

You can also take the vvl signal off the tach or ecu. I've heard its better.

For the + on the solenoids, what size fuse should one use for those?

I hear that I should use a 5A fuse on the red wire to the battery.

LOL, Ben, did I make that corny diagram? I'm looking at it and it looks SO familiar and I feel like I made something like that before.

A 5A fuse will be all you need for the solenoid power wire.

the power for the solenoids comes directly from the battery.Run a wire straight from the battery. The yellow wire completes the ground (when hooked up to both solenoids). The red wire should be hooked to a 12v source that is on when the ignition is on so you don't drain the battery. The white wire goes to tach signal. you can splice into the Green wire on teh b14 distributor for tach signal and attach it to the white. Thats it.

IIRC match the ones that have the same color stripe. If that doesn't work reverse it. The solenoids have reverse polarity and it doesn't matter which is designated as positive or negative, but that both solenoids be set up the same way.
