I know snickers has in the past made a few intake manifolds with these parts, and then changed suppliers but I would have to check with him on that to be sure.

The Flow number of the intake manifold itself is not completely useful as it can be somewhat deceiving. The intake manifold alters the flow characteristics of the cylinder head because it directs the flow of the air into and through the port.

The manifold you have pictured in your Photobucket account is a nicely fabricated piece. I do have one piece of advice though. It appears that the intake runners are perpendicular to the intake manifold flange. The runners should be at the same included angle as the intake ports are in the head to keep the direction of the intake flow continuous without having to suddenly change directions. If you flowed the intake manifold on the cylinder head where the air had to suddenly change direction turning into the intake port, no matter how slightly, you will have a slight loss in velocity, pressure, and lose flow as well.

Snickers has a flow bench if you need it flowed vs another intake manifold.

Sounds like good stuff here mrslappy. Does it make a difference rather it's RWD or FWD?? I think the ITM sits different on the 2 applications correct?? This is for a RWD boost car.

Realisticly to make these manifolds you are looking at over $300 in parts easy if you use the RMR stuff. I'm trying to get my CNC back together so I can actually make some of these parts myself to save. About a year ago I started on an intake manifold similar to the mazworx one but for FWD with the correct runner length but never finished it.

hi guys. Im new to this forum, but ive been doing this for some time now. We made the above manifold. We understand that the runner isnt a perfectly straight shot into the port, but it will get blended a little bit to smooth that transistion. Otherwise, im just curious to see how it performs. With the longer runners im hoping itll make some good mid-range power but also carry upwards of 10k rpm. This was just a prototype of sorts and we will be making another one in the future using a billet head flange as apposed to milling the factory one down and are also considering tapered runners in the future. The car its pictured on however is my personal car, and time and money aren't always abundant for our personal projects.

Thanks for the comments.

not sure about 15 whp.. but you will be paying close to to that for custom intake manifolds, i have a semi custom unit that was done really well, for n/a purposes(bolt on) and it costed!
but with the extensive knowledge used to make this what it is, it needs to be tested in the real world.(like mrslappy said) but who knows when that is going to happen.
mazworx and brian w seem to be the hopes for intake manifolds..

Does no one use bike carbs with the SR20? If I had a standalone it's something I would definately get into.

My friend Marque has a sr16ve with FCR carbs and N1 cams. He is making almost 190whp with that setup SAE corrected.

Ahh yeh, on the K12? Remember seeing pics of that. Seems strange that people who are squeezing every last whp out of their cars aren't looking into them.

The caterham/westfield kit cars over here make 200whp with only a 2.0 Zetec and a set of R1 carbs. Im sure the VVL would trounce that with it being a far superior engine in the first place.

He is also running a Gen 6 header as well. So i'm going to see if he wants another header for that motor. He may just want a custom one for all I know. I think he has another 25whp left in that thing just from more tuning as well as a better header design.
