Thread: SR20VE Specs

What weight oil does everyone run in their VE and how many quarts as well? Use the same as the SR20DE Specs?

I run 10W-30 and exactly 4 qts.

Mobil 1 5W30
3.5 to 4 quarts....check the dipstick

Mobil 5w30 & 4 qts also.

I run Mobil 1 0W-20 in the winter months and 5W-30 in the summer months.

yeah mobil 1 5w30 all year round but again it doesnt get cold here either. Ran right along with a mobil 1 filter as well. I love mobil 1 and the filter. You could literally see the difference in oil pressure with the mobil 1 vs the STP filter. This was tested out on a buddies 240 with an oil pressure guage. I think at startup initially it saw around 20psi more oil pressure and then with the engine fully warmed up at idle it was seeing over 10psi more pressure. Cant argue with the facts

If I lived in Texas and Arizona I would run 5w-30 in the cooler months and during Summer 10w-30 or a 50/50 mixture of 10w-30 and 15w-50 for the extreme high temp months of over 90-110 degrees
