No, I have no idea who's car that is. I know a while back a red turbo b14 was in there being looked at because someone wanted to buy it.

All Motor DE here with Bolt-ons. Considered going both VE and DET but dont think i am going to now in my current car...i happy with like 130whp for the time being, is enough to worry some 1.8T's and a few unbuilt 2.5 V6's out there.

i would like to know though, which would be quicker on a circuit, trackday, the VE with the smooth powerdelivery, or the DET with the torque?

Also, some people are saying that it is unfair to compare ALL Motor to Turbo. well they are both variations of the same engine so why not compare them? I would actually use the total engine cost budget to decide whether its "fair" i.e an engine which has had $2k spent on it compared to one which has had $10k spent on it isnt really a fair test.

So say you had a budget of $3,000 to buy and bolton/tune the motor which would be the quicker, better more reliable motor?

I would say for a circuit race SR20VE, more traction smooth power etc. for 1/4 mile SR20DET.

the fact that this is such a debate shows how awesome the VE is. the fact that its actually not a bad comparison from an NA motor to a turbo shows that it is very efficient. the run of the mill t25 and bolted on VE are an awesome race. but yes the t25 car has more potenial....

the VE is still better

You could build a 12 second, all day long, classic with a T25 setup under 3 grand. Even have enough to spare for cams. That is if you know what you are doing and do your own work. I think the comparison is fair considering the VE has a way better flowing head, larger cams, and more of a powerband. I say everyone just slaps a VE head on a DET block and call it a day.

Ah this post, little update on the supercharged VE. 330whp at 9psi. We are putting a larger pulley on for a target of 7.5 - 8psi and 300whp. I took pics on my phone but there isn't really anything to look at lol. Oh yea still at 10.5:1 CR
