Yeah I would love to have it ceramic too,but I have already blown the budget on this as it is.I figured the $ was better spent on the full merge.I can figure out what to do about the coating later.
I am thinking of maybe trying to coat it myself,or maybe rustproof it and wrap it with header wrap.

Charles...what is your opinion on wrapping your header?

i really wanted to get in on this. but ive been out of work for almost a month now due to breaking my thumb.

i will most likely jump on this when i get some extra cash or income tax. i have to have one of these even if it sits in my garage for a few years till i can build a street motor.

bump for a bad ass header.

I wouldnt use header wrap on a mild steel header because it holds the heat in. the ceramic coating is also sprayed on the inside of the header so it helps keep heat from getting into the metal. you can always remove the header later and get it coated some other time. I have had headers coated after 2-3 years of use.

well, if your really interested, then you will be happy to know that i'm building extras that I can sell at a less rate than full retail. This header is not going away. I will be able to build more at any time. Any header I have built, I am willing to build again, some have gone up in price though.

If you get a few $$ spare and want in on this before its "over" just let me know. I have more people in on this group buy than I originally thought would happen so i'm being pretty flexible.

Charles how do you anticipate the mild steel holding up to DD with nothing on it? Should I throw some high-temp paint on it when I get it to keep the steel fresh underneath?

Thanks.

This is thickwall mild steel so it is pretty strong. Once heat cycled a few times it actually wont rust too much if any. You can use some high temp 1400 deg header paint on it, just remember to bake it on. I've had some success with it in the past

Still happy to make good on my commitment to buy (having already paid), although someone in the states may get a bargain rather than me paying for shipping to Aus.

I am sure someone here will be interested. I might be later on as I just paid for my 20V engine and have to sell a few items before I have funds available
