That is exactly what I was going to say. A few of the right tweaks when building a motor and or going through a fresh one I have seen make 12whp on a DE motor before. But its nothing simple by most standards.

This budget header was designed for a stock VE motor with n1's and no more. the 4-1 headers that I make, whether the non stepped or the crazy stepped megaphone header CAN both outperform this header easily if the setup is fully tuned and setup correctly. The 4-1 headers will respond most with more accruing mods to the motor. such as larger cams, head work, displacement and so on. The 4-1's can and will make more power WHEN SETUP CORRECTLY with the mods of the motor. They however are a lot more money and out of most peoples price ranges.

the Base 4-1 mild steel non stepped header I do not have any more but I believe Greg V has one left for $850. This is the best all around header. Very SIMILAR to the header that Andreas Miko has on his SE-R. The stainless steel version of this header is $1250.

I also make the killer stepped, megaphone/reverse cone header custom spec'd to your motor. this header starts at $1500, and with the individual flanges, starts at $1690. This is the same header that I make for Mike Kojima. This header comes with a V band at the end but no mid pipe. I can make this header in mild steel for $1300. Coating optional.

Deposit sent to you Charles at sales@advancedstreetperformance.com via echeck.

My paypal is dudeman258@gmail.com (for reference).

I want no extra's here, just the header with two bolt flange.

Thanks.

Almost any header out there will work better than a crappy Gen 6.

My damn 4 into 1 32 inch long header made 6 more WHP than a Gen 6 and it is not even designed for top end power.

Good to see the Charles budget header kicking ass.

Dude, you're going to kill any chance I have of selling my Gen 6, Dre.

Seriously though, that's a little harsh isn't it? I mean, 195 whp isn't THAT bad, and it's not like there are a lot of choices out there anymore, so it's at least a better choice than an SSAC. I don't want to put words in his mouth, but Charles told me that the Gen 6 is better for a motor with big cams than a motor with N1s.

Plus, I am running Redline Shockproof Heavy, which sucks up 4whp on the dyno - again, straight from Charles. So if I'm making 199whp untuned with a Gen 6...that's better than a kick in the nuts.

congrats on the design chuck. you've got a winner there, and its in the sweet spot for most folks' budget as well.
welcome to the darkside Dan, now find the time for some TUNING!
and finally, don't listen to Dre......no one else does

Why dont you pick one up Ric. You shouldnt have gotten rid of the spare VE. You could have built a high comp., big bore motor..

BAM!!!

Run#27 is the HS Gen 6 baseline. Run#33 is Charles' "budget" header. No, I don't have that backwards - the budget header made almost 9whp peak more, and at one point in the midrange made 15whp more. This was a slapped-together prototype!

My setup:
VE
N1 cams, +5/-5, switching at 5000 and 5800
JWT intake on a PR short ram
Nismo AFPR
3" Magnaflow cat, 3" exhaust
Redline Shockproof Heavy
Calum RT with stock VE maps

That is a very nice gain for a bolt on header for that price. I would have expected those gains to be from a header with full merge collectors and possibly slightly longer runners but thats besides the point. I hope that everyone jumps on this header deal. Its hard and nearly impossible to find a good header for under $1,000 that actually makes a lot of power everywhere.

Put me down for one of each Snickers. I want a budget base header, as well as one with full merge collectors. I know you said you dont want to make them in 304 stainless but would you be willing to make one for me in stainless? I am willing to pay the difference. Also, I think you should try one of the full merge headers with a megaphone. I think you will be suprised on the power that can still be gained with a 4-2-1 megaphone setup.

For those of you that are probobly wondering how much power the full merge collectors will add and change the power curve... the formed collectors are very poor at directing the exhaust gasses as well as making low pressure areas. Both of these can greatly affect the power of the header in all areas and mainly the top end power band. I believe the full merge collectors can make as much as 4-6whp on the top end alone, and even more on the bottom end below 4000rpm.

just what i want to hear, i figured if i was going to pay for a good header, i'd get it as good as possible so went for the Merge Collectors.

Charles, if it will help/speed things up, feel free to deduct the remainder of the cost of my headers from my CC if required, cash is just sitting there, and the aussie dollar aint getting any stronger.

OK, I will do that. I'm sure it could save you some cash too if the aussie dollar is going down even more.
