Hi Snickers
What other items are needed to fully tuning this and the other headers you make for full power extraction. Like Resonator size, length and mufflers types oval or round.

As for exhaust, your best bet is to keep a straight through design and a 3" for best power. Resonator size, length and such shouldnt matter too much.

I was considering this header for my sr20ve, 16ve cams + piggyback. But then I asked a very renowned Nissan Expert for his advice on it and he had this to say:

Note that the pairing of the cylinders is important and the pulses of exhaust that exit the cylinder head happen in a certain firing order. The pairing for most headers on 4 cylinders has been #1 and #4 joined and #2 and #3 joined. I do not see how the header at the link above would be able to make more power than the other headers I mentioned and the blending of the secondaries to the main collector is poor. From the design on that header, the exhaust streams from both secondaries will crash straight into each other.

The other headers he is referring to are SR20V (2nd Gen) that gave most gains and the Hot Shot Gen V which is no around.

Snickers, what can you say about this comment?

I really liked how it fit.

Upgrading my exhaust from 60mm to 3" shortly so a GOOD header would just cap it off.

Peace

The header shown was a prototype. I did state that the actual product will be made different and better than that. The last collector will be made different but the collector on the end of the prototype header will not impede power by much if any at all. if you were to see it in person you would understand.

also, the cylinder pairing is important and on many 4-2-1 setups, non sequential pairing when built correctly does take advantage of scavenging more and will provide more power gains over the conventional setup dyno proven.

Last I checked I have spend hundreds of hours on the dyno building, designing headers and testing them. not just on paper specking them out, but also testing. this header is being built with all of the knowledge gained from everything else I have done.

Again the merge from the secondaries into the rear collector will be different on the final product.

Cool.

Count me in on one. Even if I have to special order and even if it is more expensive than your introductory price, cause I am not quite ready.

Really liked how it cleared the x-member and the oil pan. My car is n15, similar to b14.

Peace
