funny as i was typing in www.sr20-..... into the address bar with intentions of clicking the vvl section to see if there were any new posts in that sections, i was thinking all this good knowledge getting tossed around and no charles.

good to see you back.

im very intrested on the whp numbers it produces. if it does in fact beat the ssac, gen 6 and the fuji i will purchase one even though i dont have a n/a sr20 anymore and im broke. lol.

stratton.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I see 1 & 4 paired and 2 & 3 paired in both headers.

Peace

^Can you take back shots of both top primaries?

the one on gspec is made by the same person. this is a cheaper alternative to it.

Hey Snickers... Didn't you and I run into each other on g20.net the other month? I didn't know who you were at the time. What a small world...

You took the words right out of my mouth. I don't know how many times I've seen 4-1 and 4-2-1 headers posted throughout the years always to have incorrect pairing or lacking rotational firing order (for the 4-1 designs). It never fails. Someone posts a new header design and like clockwork the design is flawed from the get-go.

Thank you for producing a header worth buying. I'm not in the market for one, but I'm glad to have products that I can recommend to others.

It's funny you say that because you were just bitching about his other 4-1 header in this thread http://www.sr20-forum.com/general-sr20/12798-1-just-bought-header-so.html post #8. That is snickers/sr20turbofreak/charles header.

^I'm glad you pointed that out. I was wondering what he meant by his post as well, but I didn't feel like beating a dead horse. I was like, "Didn't he just bash the other header in bold red?" Interesting........

All I can say is MAKE IT. The SSAC is proven to make the same power as the FUJI. Just test the header against the FUJI and it will be a no brainer... Cheaper header that makes more power and is custom built.

I'm also glad to see you back Charles

^I agree. If it makes power, I'll get one.

I'm glad you pointed that out actually. I was busy finally taking the time to read the massive "Thoughts on a full race motor setup" thread when I got to the part where Charles' name was mentioned. There was a link to his site and I went to find his 4-1 header to check firing order sort of assuming he'd have it right. I meant to double check this earlier, and was really hoping it wasn't the same header I bashed earlier. Low and behold, it's the same header I was upset with in that previous thread. =(
So I came back here to make a post about it but you'd already done that for me.

It seems Charles' 4-2-1 header is correct and his 4-1 header is not. I would like make my point clearer here with some pictures.

Here is the header in question:

And here it is again from a different angle.

And here it is with the cylinders marked and firing order shown (1-3-2-4).

Charles, now that I have you here, can you explain why cylinders 2 and 4 seem to be dumping in the wrong places? Is it for packaging reasons?

For those who don't know what I'm on about, here's the way things should be with a firing order of 1-3-2-4:

Since exhaust scavenging works best from adjacent tubes you want the order to "rotate" around the collector and not have to scavenge from a pipe across the merging pyramid.
