I have a dyno sheet of a comparison on the same car. Only the header and mild retune being different. The custom 4-1 pulls away at about 6800-7000rpm. The higher you rev it, the more power it makes. but from about 4500-7000rpm the budget is as good or better.

I'll try to dig it up and scan it in

Exactly what I am seeing in my cars.

I think that depends on how you plan to use the header, and how your car is setup.

If you're planning to rev the heck out of your car (And have prepped it for that, then the 4-1 is your header). You will get alot more top end with the 4-1. Have you upgraded your valve springs, and do you have fuel management to be running up to 8-9.5K rpm?

If you have a basic bolt on motor and don't plan to rev past say 7.5-8K rpm, I would say the 4-2-1 header will probably better for you.

Also, how do you use your car? Do you road race it? And are you needing the power in the upper rpm's? Or do you drive it around town most of the time and would want more midrange from your motor?

^ , Same here. I just want to know if it's coated and that it has the ASP logo.

I am daily driving the NX, so I'm not looking to rev the s*** out of it all the time. 7500 is plenty for what I do with it and it's got a lot of area under the curve.

The SE-R, on the other hand , is being built as a track day/weekend toy. It is driven hard and likes it that way. It will spend most of it's time above 6000 and rev to mid 9k. We'll see what it looks like once we are done tuning.

^I can't wait to ride in your car Joe. I might have to take a road trip to Stockbridge.

to clarify, i believe charles means that the approximate RPM where the 4-1 header will pull away, not JUST btwn 6800-7k but FROM around 6800rpm+

charles, could you please confirm :P

Highlighted area is the correct answer. Look at my graphs. The 4-1 takes off and is still climbing at my current 8000 rpm fuel cut. At 6500 the 4-1 is up 1-2 hp, at 7000 it's about 10-12 hp, by 7500 it's more than 25 hp, and if I took the NX to it's fuel cut (8000) I would suspect the 4-1 might be up by as much as 40 hp.

On the track it is a huge difference, on the daily driver street car the midrange is more useful

Happynole I have a question for you. The area of your dyno maps under 3 grand rpm what does that mean. Does this mean the se-r has more power than the nx under 3 grand or this is a difference due to when you started to pick up speed on the dyno for each run.
