I meant to double check this earlier, and was really hoping it wasn't the same header I bashed earlier. Low and behold, it's the same header I was upset with in that previous thread. =(
So I came back here to make a post about it but you'd already done that for me.

It seems Charles' 4-2-1 header is correct and his 4-1 header is not. I would like make my point clearer here with some pictures.

Here is the header in question:

And here it is again from a different angle.

And here it is with the cylinders marked and firing order shown (1-3-2-4).

Charles, now that I have you here, can you explain why cylinders 2 and 4 seem to be dumping in the wrong places? Is it for packaging reasons?

For those who don't know what I'm on about, here's the way things should be with a firing order of 1-3-2-4:

Since exhaust scavenging works best from adjacent tubes you want the order to "rotate" around the collector and not have to scavenge from a pipe across the merging pyramid.

What's wrong with the header? You do realize that firing order for our engine is 1-3-4-2.

i was under the impression that the firing order is 1-3-4-2 in which case the header is right

Yah, so I guess that's probably the largest self pwnage you'll see all year.

Maybe it's about time I took a break from cars for a while. Apparently I'm not fit to turn a wrench.

Wait a minute. That means the SSAC/Hotshot Gen5 4-2-1 header has the correct cylinder pairing.

Step away from the comp before you hurt yourself.

Lets be clear, Snickers budget 421 header is the exception and not the norm when it comes to cylinder pairing. Most automotive headers are paired the traditional way with 1,4 and 2,3. You see this in the factory VE manifold, including the 20V. Take a look at all these manifolds and look at their pairing. Are they all "wrong"?

King Motorsports Unlimited, Inc.

The 1,2 and 3,4 pairing is more common in the motorcycle world where the engine lives above 10k rpm.

To say the traditional 1,4 and 2,3 is "wrong" is incorrect. There is more than one way to do things.

Instead of bashing someone that left the sr20 world because of "arm-chair engineers" why don't we be excited someone is trying to innovate when the rest of the aftermarket forgot about us?

Great you have an SSAC header if Snickers header makes more power great if not, why are you concerned? It's not like you have anything invested in R&D, materials or Labor to make this happen.
