The springs and tabs can not be added to the base header because the collectors must be welded on.

The V band CAN be added onto the base header no problem because it is after the collector.

The headers are mild steel non coated. I can get them coated if wanted for an additional $155 but there has not been any expressed interest.

In the pic above, that is a V band assembly. You remove the outter clamp and the pipes come right apart.

BAM!!!

Run#27 is the HS Gen 6 baseline. Run#33 is Charles' "budget" header. No, I don't have that backwards - the budget header made almost 9whp peak more, and at one point in the midrange made 15whp more. This was a slapped-together prototype!

My setup:
VE
N1 cams, +5/-5, switching at 5000 and 5800
JWT intake on a PR short ram
Nismo AFPR
3" Magnaflow cat, 3" exhaust
Redline Shockproof Heavy
Calum RT with stock VE maps

I am by no means criticizing your work. Just for comparison. The #'s are almost identical. Thought it was intresting. Remember this is a on a race motor. Stock bottom end, stock cams on race fuel and a race JWT ecu. Gen 6 header with 3" exhaust. makes me wonder just what your header will do on my car.
I applaud your efforts and results.

Different dyno's different parts of the country.
Are your numbers SAE corrected?
I have yet to see anyone aside from you post a dyno on stock cams making anywhere close to 200whp on a stock bottom end.

I remember when I took off my Gen 6 and told everyone that is was crap and a waste of money and it was not tested to make the claims they said. It was all just a hype machine.

Almost any header out there will work better than a crappy Gen 6.

My damn 4 into 1 32 inch long header made 6 more WHP than a Gen 6 and it is not even designed for top end power.

Good to see the Charles budget header kicking ass.

I was done at P2r racing in Ftl. last Jan. Not as hot or humid. can't get any lower than sea leavel there. The car sure runs like it has 200 hp. I have been assembling race motors for years. Guess I am doing something right.

Other than being everydyno is different and every setup is different, I do know there are atleast 3 varriants of sr20ve motors. the latest one ( not the 20v though) is the worst one. the early motors make the most power dyno proven. The car that I usually test headers on has an early style sr20ve motor and it makes about 5-7whp more with the same mods over the car I just tested my budget header on. There are also a few mods and a few tuning tweaks you can do to get every last bit of power from these motors, even upwards of 8-10whp.

If your interested in one, just let me know. I got parts on the way to make extras

of course we're all interested in this mod! how can we acquire this part, and can you throw in another deal for us budget header buyers

That my friend is what comes from years of engine building experience. It's not just one mod. A series of tweaks and massages here and there, is what a tuner gets paid for.

Will this Budget header outperform the 4:1 header I pm you about?
