SR20VE compression pretty good, but high?
I swapped the SR20VE about a week ago, and the compression warm was about 230 psi across all four cylinders. I thought it was suppose to be 210 psi. Anyone have these numbers? I'm pleased with the good compression but thought it was a little bit high, which is a good thing, but just wondering why.

It's within 10%. NO worries. The only thing that will cause the higher compression reading is carbon buildup. Now run it to 8G a few times to blast off the carbon and enjoy

I hit close to 220PSI on all 4 cylinders when cold on my SR20VE.

same here. I hear of people getting really high compression on some VE motors, but I got mine from miko and it had 180 across the board. These really high numbers seem kinda suspect. I have seen variences on different testers as well. I still don't see a 10.3:1 compression motor hitting those numbers. Perhaps it is just carbon buildup.

My 10:1de had 200 across all cylinders, for two years even being boosted.

my ve had 225 psi accross the board. I did just a base compression test on my buddies 2.2L 12:1 build before we really even started breaking and got 245-250 accross the board. I suspect a little higher once breaking is completed which it is. So once the oil is switched to synthetic ill do another test after some run time on the synthetic and see where we are at. Im guessing final numbers will probably be around 260 accross the board.
