Lost over 30 whp and over 20 wtq by swapping my stock ecu out (sad)
I had my p10ve tuned in april 2008 and was pleased with the results:
196hp and 156tq
stock de ecu and safc
Well I wanted to up my redline to 8k so I bought a b13 ecu (off craigslist) and sent it to Calum.
Calum calls me up and informs me that the ecu is an OLD Jim Wolf ecu. So old that Calum himself was shocked. Calum told me that the ecu is pretty much stock so I told him just to go as planned and raise the redline to 8k.
I swapped the ecu in and right away the train pull on top end was gone. The low end power was gone...Hmm may be i need to get it retuned. So I bring it to the same guy and he was only able to push out 170hp something and 130tq something. This is a disgrace and shameful.
Tuner said that the ecu must have had a different timing on there or a way different mapping.
So now my plan is just to send Calum my Stock ecu that made great power and have that redline raised.
Im just bummed cuz im out tunning cost etc. Should I just try to advance my timing a bit to see if that will make a difference?
