Putting a VE head on a DE block...questions
Ok so heres my plan as of now. Im going to take my SR20VE, take the head off and instal it onto my DET block. Then Im going to take my VE block and put my DET head on it and use that as the motor for my daily driver. This should work out easily and give me everything I want out of my Daily while also giving me everything I want out of my Turbo car.

My question is...does anyone have pictures of what exactly needs to be modified to put the VE head on the DE block. I know SE-Rican (I think it was him) was telling me about having to drill a hole and some other stuff. Can anyone tell me what exactly needs to be done? With pictures of where the drilling goes? Any help would be greatly apprieciated...

if you are a part of the old forum there is a complete write up on it with detailed pics. It is really fairly easy to do. You will need the oil line kit which i would recommend getting from greg. You also need to consider uggrading your oil pump/front cover/ which i so happen to have parting out, haha along with pullies too. Always a plus, haha

no im saying if your gonna put ve head on your turbo motor the ve oil pump is alot better than the det one. your gonna need the extra oil flow for the ve head and turbo. Just a thought

Yeah some dude named Payu did this on the old forum and he had a very detailed write up(Sorry I don't know his user name) According to his write up it doesn't look too hard at all and if you can find it you'll be good to go. BTW I too planned this and I picked me up a VE head when I was in NY for the thanksgiving holiday. Oh and if no one has told you yet................ U R 1 CONFUSED DUDE MAN!!!!!!!! Constantly changing your mind and all. As far as manifold choices I'm running my Avenir manifold (modified with a T3 flange by you know who) on a Garrett turbo similar in specs and dimensions to your MP until I can afford a good manifold which is gonna run you $1200 new.

I documented the differences in oil pumps between the stock GTiR and the VE pump on my VET build thread. There are pics there. You get way better oil pressure and the VE pump can also rev a lot higher without pump cavitation.

Jerry...good luck with that man. If your turbo is similar in size to mine then your wasting your time trying to use the stock manifold even with a T3 flange! I can tell you now that the turbo will hit the block and all the grinding in the world isnt going to help you make it fit! BTW im not confused. I just know that this all motor setup will get boring really quickly. So im not going to waste my time or money on it!

Does anyone have a link to this detailed thread?? If I were to get on SR20forum and try to find it...it would take years since that forum takes ten years to load each page for some reason...
