Exactly what i said. lol.

Again you guys paved the way and have to give you props for that.

The k series motor is just as finiky as the ve builds when it comes to big bore/stroke builds. Guarantee their failure to success rate is right on par with ours. Its just the sheer quantity of their builds compared to ours that makes it seem like they make it look soo easy.

i wouldnt go that far ashton.

slap on a stock k20 head to a stock k24 bottom add some cams a good header some kpro and its a proven 100% 260 whp set up mid 11 sec car all day.

no if ands or buts.

plain and simple.

honda is king.

stratton.

In the FWD game this is factual.

yep, in the rwd the hondas are still outdone by all the others and even nissans whether it be a big sr drag car, rb drag car, supra, celica, rotary, you name it. Not many hondas are keeping up. One comes to mind is El Freddy which is a K24 rwd powerd drag car running right on the brink of breaking into the 6's. If you havent seen vids of it, check it out. Consistent as hell and rides like its on rails. Very well dialed in car. But yeah there are still many more faster cars out there including sr powered ones. A 20 year old motor is still holding its own.

I hate to agree but this is true. We have some single cam 1.6 cars down here making over 600hp.

K go buy Honda's guys. Lets stop reminding ourselves how inferior our motor is

Yeah but those high hp single cams wont last long. Most dont. Even with sleeved blocks they will split their blocks in half after soo long at about 6-700 whp. You should have seen last years SOHC honda drag day meet. It was blow up after blow up. lol. Kinda amusing to read and see all the picturs of blocks split in half, stock sleeves split from top to bottom, dropped valves, and so on. I think more people broke that weekend than survived.

Haha. If I thought they were inferior i wouldn't have spent the last 17 years getting my car to the point it is today.

Back on topic now.
I'm sure you guys will reach your goals.

had a slight sealing problem (chalked up to head gasket or block issues)

i more then anyone wanted my motor or anyone else motor to succeed.

unluckly this didnt happen for alot of us, some of us arent being forthright and open with the community as with all builds there are those that dont speak about the failures.

10 years in the sr20 game and many set ups under my belt ive realized one thing. you cant build a sr20 to compete with other motors that completely out class it in every aspect. if you cant beat em join em comes to mind. there are k24's making 310whp on 93 oct. forget about mentioning the 2.6s that are nearly making 400whp. im not even gonna mention a fully stock k20 with bolt ons making 250ish whp. all off the shelf parts. go google black widows full interior all motor 8th gen civic running 11.7 with all off the shelf parts while our best all motor sr20's struggle to dip into the 11s.

Theres a 2.3 sr that made 270whp with more left in it, so were not to far behind that 2.4...and there is nooooo k20 with just bolt-ons running 250whp i know plenty of honda guys i dunno what you consider "bolt-ons"
