does kelford believe your new cam (their new design) is better then 20vl and n1h ?

what are the specs on your motor. did i read that you have a bigger cc motor then a 2l ?

id look for blank cams an have delta regrind them to your own specs.. makes life alil easier an faster.

If anyone wanted, franklin cams can and will make 20v/n1 cams for you, they have the specs for both, I'm not sure if Kelfords have 20v specs, but they have n1 specs.
I don't doubt though if you rang/emailed Kelfords and said i want n1 cams but with a torquier low lobe because my n1 cams lack mid range, they would be able to spit something out for you in a jiffy. Everyone keeps complaining there isn't any cams out for the VE but the average VE owner just isn't willing to take the inititive to get some made.

Before I come across as a grumpy sh1t again, I realise it is easier for someone in my position to rant on when i can just call in to Kelfords on the way home from work, but with both companies having websites up now its easier than ever to get in touch with them, both kelfords and franklins are reputable companies, with kelford actually sending a lot of cams to the states now a days anyway.

Basically if you went with what miko has been saying for ages. 20v/ torquier low lobe with slightly more duration/lift than n1 on high lobe you wouldn't be disappointed.

We have to measure the low lobes and high lobes to see. As i said just because the high lobe is 'bigger' than an N1 doesn't mean it will make more power

I have a 2.2L 12:1 CR VE the other thread has my dyno's compared to a 2L

Blank VVL cams are extremely hard to find and there are less than a hand full of people in the world outside of nissan that can design a cam better than N1's.

The problem is there are a lot of 'arm chair' enthusists. They would rather talk than spend the money on the cams.

to get custom cams from kelford to the US would cost you about $1k. And kelford can make 20v Low N1 high right now.

Now lets wait and see who actually asks kelford to make these.

i'd like to purchase a set of them, but i already have n1's so spending a lot of money on a set for no additional gains up top doesnt make sense to me.
If they had a 20v low cam and bigger than n1 (suitable for stock compression/displacement) then it would be more enticing.
From their website it says the 184c's are made for more compression, I wonder how they would fare on a std compression sr20ve?

I personally wouldn't run the 184c's on a stock motor.
They will be able to make you one to suit though. Like I said if you talked to them and explained what your mods were and where you wanted your improvements like, it lacks midrange and would like a little more top end they'd be able to make you something, its better to get in touch with them and have them recommend something for your motor. You have to be realistic though, they aren't magicians, you can have a hp up top or you could live with a little bit more up top but a heap more midrange, this may sound obvious but its easy to have too high expectations. I mean who hasn't been dissappointed at some point with a mod they've done.
Remember its all about area under the curve, so just because you don't make much more hp on a 20v/n1 cam up top you'd make way more midrange and the car would still be much faster. Look how much torque Evilnxr made on the 20v/n1 cam combo.

well i can tell you definately one person has asked kelford already about differnt combo's on top of the 20v lows.....

I know what you mean about shipping, i wanted to get 30USD worth of fuel rail extrusion sent here to nz and freight was 90USD! Then I would have got charged NZ goods tax on the goods and freight on top of that!
