20v lows and n1 highs have always been a good spec imo

however i wish you well in the testing of these cams and hope you improve upon the n1's. I dont think the is room for big improvement on high cam, however their is still room for improvement, but plenty of room for improvement on low lobes.

As far as the cam stuff goes Charles knows way more than me but he will tell you that I make very good points on things that I have found.

I knew you were getting some cams in but if they were the standard 184-Cs I was not happy with what I have seen with them. Now like I said they were on a 2L motor.

Charles will tell you that I have told him many times that I feel we need to go with less duration than N1s more agressive on the lift but its more of a guessing game from everyones persective.

Lastly, we need to start off with 20V bottoms as they are designed around the 2L motor and have proven to make huge HP down low and will make even more power on a 2.2-2.3L while bring the peak HP down in the mid to low 5000 range than mid 6000s on a 2L. This is proven fact.

I was suposed to send Charles my 20V cams so he could send them to Kelford but he has not got back to me yet on that.

Did you even read what he said? These are completely redesigned cams, designed FOR A 2L MOTOR , Kelfords had Clint's head to develop these cams based on what they learnt from the OLD cams and talking with people they know have built VE's, he's talked to both charles and also deveoped them with THE leading nissan tuner here in NZ, you said yourself that you don't know as much about cams as Charles so why are you preaching on about 20v low lobes when in all reality these probably have lobe profiles similar/better than 20v, i.e designed for a 2L not a 1.6. You've basically gone and dismissed them entirely based on heresay you've heard about the OLD cams. Just relax, and wait for donttazmebro and charles to test them properly and take the information as it comes. If your not pleased with the results ignore them.
You of all people should know things like this take development, sometime things don't work as entirely expected, you do a little research talk to a few people and have another go. Its the way things are in this industry. If you want "20v low lobes with something a little better than n1's on the high lobes" YOU ring/email kelfords/franklins and get some made instead trying to get everyone else to pay/develop/test the cams for you. If your so sure the cam combo will work then there shouldn't be any reason for you not to get a set made for you.

Franklin cams: fcams@xtra.co.nz - Franklin Cam Services - Home

Kelford cams: sales@camshaftshop.com Import Camshafts, High Performance Racing Camshafts from CamshaftShop, the Online Camshaft Shop New Zealand

There we go, i've even made it easier for you by giving you the contact details of the cam manufacturers

No body said that development is 100%. Yes you will go through growing pains but it is ok to talk about it.

I was just saying I have seen a few of the cams in cars and they did not put down more than N1s.

Now no one has made cams yet that produce more power than 20V Ls and that is a fact.

Now that he has had some newly designed cams, then as he stated there should be something new to see, good for us.

At the same time having a SR16VE head Vs a SR20VE head to test head flow should be the same.

The 20V Ls and N1 highs have proven to work as tested by Evlnxr. I want to see 20Vs on the bottom and something bigger up top.

****, that's what I get for not paying attention before I posted. I was thinking these were the N1 big lobe/20V small lobe cams

Oh ok. I wasn't sure what was happening with them, last I heard was Evlnxr was selling his car and couldn't finish testing.

Sorry mate, i wasn't trying to turn your thread into a sh1t fight, Your doing an awesome thing sharing, I just got a bit annoyed of miko jumping into every cam thread for the last three years saying "what we need is a 20v low lobe....." When he has the same ability as everyone else to get them made and never has even so much as contacted a cam company to look at developing something, he just keeps trying to pass it on through other members of the forum who are actually putting there money up for development. I guess he just likes to say I told you so on internet forums.
I'll keep my mouth shut now. Keep us posted.
