Thread: VAFC2 working with mafs!!!

OK so I was planning on selling my VAFC2 that I just bought. But WTF...after a bit of searching, MAXIMA guys use this VAFC2 ALL the time it looks like. WTF is going on here. Can you use the VAFC2 to tune or no??

I even have the N60 maf...

Someone on the board had one controlling his VVL.

i would think so, vtec works along similar lines of a vvl setup....but i dont have a vvl so dun mind my opinion

Guys, its a known fact that it can control VVL. Thats not what im talking about. Im talking about if controlling the A/F's on a maf car.

Does anyone know what these maxima guys are doing that we dont know?

I have a friend that has a Apexi Neo on a 03 Spec V and she has a MAF. It can be hooked up to our cars. Just need to find the diagram.

The Apexi Neo can be used on any car. Thats why the NEO came out. Its an SAFC AND a VVL controller jsut put in one.

The VAFC2 on the other hand is supposedly only for MAP sensor cars. But Maxima guys seem to be having no problems using it. HOW is my question...

For all of you

SAFC-I -> Controls any model, doesn't control VTEC or VVL activation
SAFC-2 -> Basically the same as SAFC-1, doesn't control VTEC or VVL either
VAFC -> Controls A/F and designed for Honda boy's who doesn't use a MAF as they're running a MAP, also controls VTEC or VVL
SAFC Neo -> Does all the features above


This is the first time I know a Nissan running a VAFC (Maxima's) but since you're also using the N60 and I guess there are some diagrams I don't see a problem

Does the VAFC provides 2 signals (one for each cam?)
