How much WHP has been done on a Boosted STOCK SR20VE??
Ok so I have a feeling that I might be on my own here. But how much WHP has been done on a stock SR20VE? Now we all know that there are alot of people who love to talk out of there asses. So let me get this out of the way now lol. I dont want to hear about what your cousins uncle made or what your moms sister made before it blew up. I want first hand experience here. It doesnt seem like alot of people here have first hand experience with boosting a Stock SR20VE. I know this. But what first hand experience we have Id like to know about. Why?

Well, for one, because looking at the price of some S4's For my DET is about $600. That money would be better spent just slapping my turbo stuff on the VE. For two, its great seeing all the all motor guys making more and more power all motor. But Id still be willing to bet that itll never feel like the 325+ft/lbs of Tq thatll rip tires apart and throw you back into your seat that im used to. So im really thinking...why not just boost the VE. Then just use my Avenir block as the all motor...motor and just throw alot of nitrous at it with the Zex kit ive got. But anyway thats niether here nor there and theres another thread about my New NX for that. So let not get off topic.

Whats the Highest HP VE-T youve seen. Also how long/is it still running? It doesnt seem like it will need alot of boost to hit 450whp. Thats all im really looking for out of the car in the first place. Let me know something

Also for anyone especially Miko...hows the power band on the VE-T's VS the DE's? It seems like the VE would be better up top but they dyno more like Honda motors with there Top end peak Tq and HP. Would the DET with cams feel "Stronger" in the midrange and more driveable or would the VE-T be superior in pretty much every driveable way?

How fast do you want to go in the 1/4 mile?

SR20DET, S4 cams, JWT Pop Filter, Z32 MAF, Nismo FPR, 740cc Nismo Injs, Calum-JWT ECU, GT2871R, Ebay Intercooler, 2.5 inch piping, Aluminum flywheel and Clutch.

20 PSI = 400 WHP and 360 Lb Ft Torque will run 11.5 at 125 MPH ( shift car at 7200 )

If you want to stay under 450 WHP then I would go with a DET. The smaller turbos will work better in my opinion with the DET.

If I were trying to make 500 WHP plus, I would go with a SR20VE-T.

I'm pretty sure no one makes much turbo power on a stock VE just because of the compression. I could be wrong though. Coheed's the real presence here for the VE+T scene. He should chime in.

im personally much more interested in the lower power straight bolt on ve+t's
eg not dropping compression or replacing internals

Miko im not really looking for faster 1/4 numbers. The car gets down in the 1/4 already. In a nutshell I basically have the setup you posted but with a greddy turbo. I just want more power for my 5th gear runs ya know. If all I have to do is switch motors and only run 15lbs of boost to get there instead of 20psi then that means that the motor is that much more efficiant. Whats the compression on a stock SR20VE? Ive looked around but cant find it?

This is what im looking to do. I want to push the limits of the motor and see how much I can make with the stock motor. No opening it up except for maybe some cams.

^^Looks like hes doing it and I may just tap the block on my fresh one and see what I can do with some switching cams on a stock SR20VE-T!

10.3:1 compression

when i look into moving to a b15 tranny, i may look at turbocharging, but only with low boost (eg wastegate pressure of 7-8psi).

See my question here is really how much hp can a stock SR20VE support. Nobody really has an answer though. Seems like everyone just goes to a built block before they even attempt it stock. If I can get a reliable 450-475whp out of the stock block then I think Id be doing good.

dont think you will be able to run enough boost on 10.3:1 compression to make those kinds of figures, but be good to see someone try!
