Cam Swtich over points on the VE...
So Ive been reading around and it seems like nobody actually plays with making the Intake or Ex cams open at different time. It looks like everybody just sets it so that they come on both at the same time? Nobdoy has found any gains from setting them at different points?

If no real gains are to be had by switching them at different points Im just going to wind up getting a Safc neo or VAFC2, having it switch both cams at the same time and calling it a day. Let me know something

remeber the higher the rpm it turns on the better.

Thats mighty expensive to just switch your cams. The msd digital 8969 is your best bet and cheapest route. It's not about more power, but a smoother transition. For a basic bolt on ve there isn't really any benefit, but once you start revving really high, you might invest in a dual switch.

yeah the 8969 is nice but its about 125 shipped for one, you can pick up an vafc from some honda boys for 75.00 and it has the options to hook into your maf signal if you want to use it to fine tune say a calum basic if at all needed. Plus it looks nicer than the msd. Just wire it into the ecu and then wire up the solenoids just as you would and run the wire inside and call it a day.

I liked my 8969 a lot first off. Matau916 (guy from Sac) had some success staggering them when he dynoed NA. Mostly midrange, but he did have 16ve cams. He got them dialed with a few pulls.

Yea but that is for a used VAFC. I am sure a used MSD is around that price too. I got my MSD from Summit for less than $125 shipped.

Depends on the cams you have. When I had my SR16's I made the power come on smooth switching them at different RPM's. I rock the Greddy MSS going with bigger cams this time around and switching them to a different rpm.

Hmm.I swear when I searched it ,I came up with 4600 intake,4800 exhaust.
Thats what I have my Greddy MSS set at right now.
I am gonna have to try bumping it up to around 5400 and see if my butt-dyno feels a difference.

You are switching around the right rpm for stock 20ve cams, 5400 is way too high IMO.
