2.2L DE/VE build updated 10/30/08 Pic heavy!!!!!
Well guys here it is, as promised. The days have come. Here is the first part of the build. We are waiting on a couple small pieces we didnt know we were missing such as the bannana tensioner bolt being its the new metal style and uses a different type of bolt. The engine is complete with all new parts and goes as such.

DE block sleeved with darton sleeves, surface decked .004"/ bored to 90mm
20VE head w/ franklin stage 3 cams, BC valve springs and titanium retainers.
Head resurfaced and valve seats and valves check and pressure tested leaks.
Mazworx 90mm headgasket
Custom VE 12:1 pistons with deeper valve reliefs mated to stock rods
Brand new oem nissan main, crank, and thrust bearings
VE front cover/oil pump, GregV VE spacer/oil pump drive/crank pulley/water pump pulley.
Polished crank and mic'd for precision.

This will all be mated to a jwt lightweight flywheel, ACT EXT PP and 6 puck disk. B15 trans and a 200sx SE-R converted to hydraulic clutch.

Header we will be using for now will be an SSAC 2.5" header running open for now until a 3" exhaust is made.

Anyways on to the pics, all work was done by myself and there will be lots more pics to come of the hydraulic conversion, motor in and will be run on a Calum Realtime ECU with VVL trigger compatibility. Head has a mild port job along with the intake manifold which was port matched to the head. An N1 throttle body will be used as well.

And here is peter the owner of the car its going into, A long time awaited, he has owned the car for about 7 years now and he has recently for the last year worked his a** off to do this. His 150k mile motor developed rod knock and a bearing replacement was no good as the motor crank was damaged badly. So the car has been parked for the last 5 months while he has worked his butt off to do this complete build, needless to say this is the most he has spent on his ride and its well deserved. The car already has some nice tein coilovers and es suspension bushings so its all set for this bad boy.

here is angel the evil accomplice haha nah not really he drives the black turbo nx here that i did all the work too, haha

And here is yours truely at the scene of the crime i mean build tired as hell. haha

Enjoy and i will keep this updated throughout the week as the other parts get here, the next pics will be of the completed motor, then come next weekend it will be in the car with pics of the hydraulic clutch conversion and calum realtime tune and maybe some vids of the beast.

a few questions:

what is your whp goal?

what octane will you be running on?

also id didnt know there were franklyn cams that can work in a vvl head. Thought the research for ve cams was still incomplete.

Peace

no there are franklin stage 3's and 4's, The 3's were dynod right next to n1's and were almost identical, so you could say we are using basicly n1's. Now our whp goal is around the 225 whp mark, I think this should be attained pretty easilly once tuned with the calum rt ecu. We will be running on pump premium gas. The 12:1 compression is about the max on pump from what ive researched. So we should be fine.
