Weird dead feeling all of a sudden in throttle
I have a typical sr20ve setup with i/h/e and a calum basic. I have had this problem happen a couple of times where I will be driving and all of a sudden the throttle just dies (kind of like when the maf is loose and you hit the gas and get no response) then a few seconds later its fine. This has happened a few times spread far apart over 3 months. I haven't been able to look at the afr's while it "hiccup'd" on the wideband(afr's good otherwise). Any ideas?

I believe I am having the same issue as you. Though my issue in the past has been a jerk or buck feeling then after that everytime i let off the throttle I will feel a feeling as if the car all of a sudden has much more of a load that it is pulling. Like a drag feeling. I am with you the hard to discribe the feeling part. Possibly in your case a TPS is going (Throttle Position Sensor) for those that dont know. The TPS is on our engines are potentiometer type and can wear more in one spot then others due to driving at certain speeds on a regular basis. Does it only happen at the same speed each time. If so I beat that is your issue. My issue seems to be possibly a wiring issue.

I had that issue too....turned out to be bad gas. My g/f put 87 octane in it and it sat for about a month....cranked but ran like crap. Felt like the MAF came off.

I think SE-L SLEEPER might be on to something. I am at a normal low throttle cruise when it happens. I guess I could swap over my de tps sensor or just the whole throttle body setup. I also have that jerk as well that you talk about when driving randomly will do accelerate for a blink almost like a quick rev without pushing down the pedal..Could it also be the calum tune?

I highly doubt calum tune would be the issue. Spoke to him the other night and that does not seem likely. Do you have a check engine light?

Yeah, I have a CEL because i didnt rewire part of the harness to run the 95-97 ecu. It throws a rear o2 code that i know of.. I need to check that out.

I have that code sometimes too. Rear o2 sensor is not going to affect drivibility. It is simply telling you if your CAT is working or is not. Does nothing more then say you dont have a CAT or that your not running clean for the enviroment. Do you have any other codes?

Check MAF. If it's in the same spot on the throttle then its more then likely TPS.

You can fake out the rear 02, Vadim did a How To. I also thought that you could turn that off with the calum. You might want to look into that.

Okay, before you go any further, you need to do the JWT guide TO THE TEE.

It's not just for the rear-o2 sensor, it's for your EGR system (even if you have the delete, the ECU needs to be looking at the right sensor in order for you to fake it.), as well as the purge control. The sensor closest to the evap canister needs to be unplugged as well.
