Need help...Hesitation Issue.
Well me and a friend put a VE into a friends B13 yesterday. Started up no problems.

Well when your driving it, it hesitates. 50% of the time it'll run smooth then the other 50% it'll hesitate. It does it with light throttle and at full throttle. EXAMPLE: He floored it, it reved to 4-5k and stopped...acted like you wasn't hitting the throttle at all. It DOESN'T happen at the same RPM's or anything. Just random hesitation. I was thinking throttle position senser...but everytime I had that problem it always hesitated on the same spots (pedal). This is just random. Opinions needed please

Mods:
SR20VE
SR16VE cams
G-Spec pulley
I/H(de header, his SSAC is in the mail.) Exhaust
Calum ECU w/ 16ve cam tune.
E60 MAF
Fidanza flywheel

I KNOW the MAF is hooked up correctly.(plus that would'nt create that kind of issue.) I know what MAF's do when hooked up wrong.(car will barley run and wont rev past 3) Andreas wired up the MSD switch's and sent them. So Im pretty sure there hooked up correctly.(They do activate the cams)

So let the idea's roll on in...were gonna go over the car tomorrow and get this thing right. Thanks

Im gonna hopefully check the timing tomorrow while were going over it. Thats also what I was thinking. MAF possibly going bad...I never had one go bad but it does act weird. Happens at ALL RPMs just randomly. Tomorrow were gonna change out MAF, TPS and check the timing. Figure something out.

Driveability issues are hard. I am in the same area right now. VE is acting up in a very similar way. Check your grounds. I mean check them. Pin out the wiring harness with a DMM. What codes are you pulling. Only codes I have are for ECT (Engine coolant temp sensor) and Park neutral switch. I need to check my thermostat. It may be stuck open and not letting me go into clossed loop. I would say scan it. Also if you get no codes RESET the ECU with the scanner and see if that helps.

If your getting a code for a bad temp sensor you will have all kinds of drivability issues. Usually this is as simple as the connector is on, or the sensor is bad.

Yea sry fella's...I havent been on for a couple days. Figured it out, it was the MAF. I didnt think it was TPS cause it was all over the place. We put another friends stuff on since we knew everything was good and it worked fine. Narrowed it down to the MAF. Thanks for the comments and help though.
