How to: Reroute your IACV plugs and replace plug for VVL swap
I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR MISTAKES OR FAILURES IN ATTEMPTING THIS. YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. Take your time and do it right the first time and you'll have no problems.

I am going to show you how to reroute your IACV plugs instead of cutting and extending them as most people do. This was done in my B14, but will not be much different from the B13. I think it will actually be much easier in the B13

You will need:
1 SR20 engine wiring harness
Soldering gun and solder
Heat shrink to seal soldered connections
Wire cutters/strippers
Electrical tape
1 matching plug for purple IACV plug on VE

First you need to get the harness up to an accessible area. You don't need too much room as there is not a whole lot that you'll be doing anyway.

Another thing that you can do before you plug in the IACV is remove the bolts that hold it in and carefully remove it taking care not to damage the gasket, flip it upside down and reinstall it. This is something that a few members have just made aware to me, and I have not done yet, but may do soon.

That's all you need to do.

another way to do this and save the time of cutting and soldering is to get a needle type tool and pop the wires off the old plug and then then them in the purple plug.

The plugs have a water proof cap on the back of them. I didn't want to ruin that so I didn't bother with doing that, but good point. I really wish that I would have just done it that way now.

just flip it upside down. you can unscrew it and flip it upside down and you wont have to extend any wires.

The only reason for extending them is because the plugs are taped to the injector harness plug and run to the far side of the mani. I've always read that you need to cut and extend them, and I decided that I'd rather untape them and reroute them.

I could have unscrewed it (and I didn't even think of doing it till I saw pics of it after the fact) and flipped it, but I didn't want to mess with resealing it. I'm gonna do some better stuff later.

All you have to do is remove the iacv, try to be careful while removing it so you don't damage the gasket. Or you can be ready and buy one from Greg V. flip it around removing the two screws and call it a day.

I'll add that into the write up.

so i'm guessing this is personal preference to re route rather than just extend?

but ya, either unshroud the wires an then they're long enough, or i guess just flip the thing.. either way works
