What Air/Fuel ratios do you see at idle?
im calling all turbo guys with widebands, i wanna know what air fuel ratios you guys normally see at idle? i am getting some mixed reviews when reading about th whereabouts of air fuel ratio numbers i should see at idle, some say stoich, some say leaner is normal...what do you guys recomend?

i normally see around 16.x to 17.x always run 92 or higher and runnnig the 7E's

youre fine if you see 16-18:1 at idle 17 is near perfect iirc
Shit, I see like low to mid 20s at idle LOL but my setup is a little crazy

My car is weird. After its warmed up sometimes it idles around 14.5-15.0 and sometimes from 17.0 to off the scale lean. The leaner it is the rougher the idle.

i think i need to adjust my air fuel ratios down to stoich for a more smoothe idle

is there a ''unsafe'' air fuel ratio at idle? i havent been able to find a definitive answer becuase at idle there isnt a load on the motor to cause a problem, but is therre a unsafe air fuel ratio at idle?

TBH, there's no unsafe AFR at idle. If too rich, car just floods and dies. If too lean, car just dies. No damage can really be done.

Under load, it's obviously a different story.

Another thing to consider, is if you have a really lean idle, and it doesn't overcome immediately under load. For instance, I had issues with uber lean idle, and when I'd take off from a light, my AFR would still be hella lean, so I had to baby it to keep from hitting detonation/knock, until my AFR would finally come back rich.

And to answer your question, I'm seeing anywhere from 14.5~16 on the wideband, at idle. 100% load, I see low 10's. Needs some fine tuning, which will happen when I upgrade.
