These are VW coils found on the 2.0T motor. They cost about $20 a piece, this set I got for $70 with the harness at the Pick and pull in Va Beach. But thes are a 5v pull up style coil just like Nissan coils. They apparently draw a little more current than other coils but I will report back on that. Edit: Confirmed these do draw more current than the others I have test like the p12 and ls2. But, I just so happened to have designed a high current version just for this occasion.

I've been lurking this project for a while and I am thoroughly impressed. I know you mentioned NEMU, and my question is how would your product integrate with NEMU hardware? Or would it be a standalone on top of it? I guess I'm wondering how your product would work with NEMU COP controls. In the ECU case would be awesome BTW as long as it could fit with a NEMU/NISTUNE installed ECU.

This is a standalone unit. There is no integration planned. Currently the the board interfaces with the ECU by taking in the ignition signal, and cam sensor. The Nemu controls the dwell time and angle... I just snatch up that signal and sequence out and i can do this in less than a microsecond (us). NismotronicSA/ Nemu is currently the only tested ECU; The older basic boards should work in theory, just finding an address file with the dwell times and battery compensation table was difficult and its still not certain if they are defined correctly. The newest board I have printed is about 2/3 the size of the one posted up above. The final planned board will be about 2.5 square inches, or about the size of a half dollar. There is plenty of room in the case for it.

I came close to starting it up yesterday with the VWAG coils. But alas, they are high current and have a lot a feedback and my current design could not run them. But, I just so happen to have a high current design I have built and about to test. This board will allow for coils that require more current to drive the igniter. VW just does their stuff differently is all, and I haven't run across a coil like this, so it really could be a one off thing. However, implementing the high current design as the standard will allow for more versatility, but will drive the cost of slightly. Stay tuned.

Also, I need 2 p12 coils, please shoot me a PM if you have some for sale.

I wanted to bring up that since you use IGN signal my guess your injection timing is based on IGN timing.. They are very different .. Fueling would be extremely late ... Though as it goes higher in the duty cycle it will matter less and less... Idle on big injectors may be tricky ... Or maybe you have a processor in your standalone to program the required delay... I think your on to something badass bro... I love to see hardware hacking...

His unit doesn't do anything with fuel unless I am mistaken...(I'm no ECU expert, so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about)...It just adds COP capability to NEMU. NEMU takes care of the fuel.
