Are you truly detonating or that is what SAFC says?

Well the car is too loud to ear... and i don´t have another way too check, maybe i need to buy some device like Kmon or Phormula Ks3 or Ks4... any other ideias?

The SAFC2 is not ideal, but in my opinion isn´t all that bad, like ppl say, because you can adjust the knock settings, like at idle the engine as some mechanical noise, and can translate in to knock readings, when in fact it´s not, it´s just noise, but you can set the SAFC to ignore the readings, like set minimum 50 knock readings to start actually read, and as 2 other RPM´s to set minimum... if it´s less it simply ignores... that´s exactly how you set a KS-3 or 4...

I set my SAFC2 when the car was full stock, so i know it had no knock... i set 50 at idle and 75 at the other 2 RPM´s...

In fact the first ever time atfter turbo i went for a ride with the stock timing on the gti-r ECU and imediatly started to detect knock at high rpm´s... i pulled bit by bit until the SAFC2 didn´t read any knock, the sweet spot was 14/15º i used 0.5bar on a 10:1 motor... AFR´s at high 11´s low 12´s at full boost...

Mitsubishi and Subaru have better sensors aparently, the SAFC method is like an estimate, not the accurate, but better then nothing i guess...

When i pulled the timing the NDS logs said 20º at hot idle, but the timing gun pointed 14/15º... that´s the reason for my original question, it really doesn´t make sense the reset caused DET... maybe it messed my AFR´s and that´s why i see some reading!

Hi guys, don´t know if it will interest anyone, but found my problem...

Nothing to do with datascan, or the reset, it was pure coincidence... apparently i had a "antitheft type" fuel pump cut switch, unfortunatly it was poor quality, and the switch button was melting and not feeding the fuel pump with enough amps and voltage... soo bad AFR´s and resulting knock...

This episode is a testament to the SR20 strenght... fully stock 10:1, really lean, knocking badly, 7800rpm cut and it didn´t destroyed itself...
