Z32 (Blowthrough) MAF Screen Damaged OK to remove?
After taking apart my piping for a MC install I noticed my screen in front of the Z32 (Blowthrough) MAF was damaged to the point of I am worried of FOD in the engine. I understand (being a photo lighting nut) that the screen is there to straighten the airflow for a less turbulent reading. However, is it safe to remove given that the damage is done. I have seen billet housings that do not incorporate a screen. For those of you with real world tuning knowledge will it make a negligible difference? I have had the car professionally tuned as a "street tune" which is very safe a WOT (on the rich side) and its nowhere near a DD so if it just means that there are a few idle/deceleration issues I am fine with that. Thank you for all the help
