studdering issue with new ecu installed
just got a ecu from calum ...(im not saying at all the calum messed up in any way shape or form ... im just trying to get some info on what to do so i can better diag. the car) i know its a good ecu cause one of my friends came to visit me in west palm when i lived there to help him with his p10 , his car was burning pig rich and was blowing black smoke like a blown turbo on a diesel his ecu in his car wasnt getting a mass air flow reading ... so i installed the one i sent calum and everything was great .. he got home fine and used the ecu for a while till he got his own ... now i have a sr16ve pervious owner told me it was a n1 but on the forum tell me its not but it has a jdm harness so i used a b13 ecu to get it programmed with basic .... the car idle fine when i first installed it took it on the first test run ... it felt just as good as getting road head ... pulled great and didnt know 3rd gear could feel so good lol i got off the exit called one of my friends to tell him how the test drive went then all of a sudden the car felt like it was cutting out .... pull it in to my drive way then reved the engine past 1500 rpm and when it gets to about 1200 it feels like it cuts out and drops quickly to abbout 750 rpm ... is this normal ? sorry for the long post but i like to be very thero with my issue .... if u can help great

It doesn't seem like an ECU issue man, check your MAF sensor and TPS ?

Disconnect the ECU and re-connect it. Make sure it seats evenly on both sides.

how would i do about checking mass air flow .... i know the sensor works from but what voltage readings should the ecu get from the sensor? ive always worked on jags and suzuki's so i dont know the voltage readings for nissan

ive done that several times .... im sure the ecu i sent to u and was returned is fine but when i install the jdm ecu it doesnt have a hick up whats so ever ... im in the process of up loading 2 videos to show whats happening ... to me the mass air flow signal is getting interrupted somewhere and cutting out on me but it only happens with the b13 ecu ... theres some wires that r insulated and the insulation has been peeled back it shows it on the video .... i dont know if that insulation is for interferance or what all ur comment will help me with my dig. thanks alot

i was explaining what was going on but no sound came out on the clip but thats the jdm ecu ... i install it and wiggle it around with no issues rev it up and idles fine ... the wires that im pointing out r the ones that the insulation (meaning that stainless steel wiring it is around the wire) and was peeled back and ran back to the ecu ... is that normal for a jdm engine harness install .... i purchased the car this way so i didnt do it and if i did i would have kept the b14 ecu and harness

this video im showing u with the b13 ecu installed if u see the rpm goes to about 1100 then quickly drops but when i drive the car it cuts in and out like maf reading is intermittenly not reading or something .... when driving the engine never turns off on me but does have a rough idle when the car is running fine the idle stays at about 1000 rpms ... im sorry about not having any sound but i thought this camera did

More spam reported. I was reading your issue, then went to read the reply which was GARBAGE.

So any update on your issue?
